A new clip, this time from the Vampires of Venice: www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3eKmKsBqK8&feature=player_embeddedI'm highly amused: 1. because I've calculated it out and I'm nearly certain that I'm actually going to be in Venice when this episode airs. If I don't find some way to hijack the hostel's internet to watch it on youtube I'll be highly disappointed. Well, not really, it'll still be there when I get back right? But eeeee. The unimaginable unmitigated awesome of it if I can watch it on location. 2. That little swirl he does on coming into the room. First watch through I was a bit worried that his speech patterns were a bit too Tennish, but Matty boy is growing on me, like fungus, or something. His voice doesn't annoy me half so much in this clip. Also, that little twirl. *squee*3. ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On his LIBRARY CARD!!!!!!!!!!!! THE WIN! THE EPIC, UNCONTROLLABLE WIN!According to TARDISwiki: Toby Whithouse told SFX that in this episode "At one point the Doctor says the word ‘diabetic’. One character is a talking otter. There is an almost painfully beautiful gag about cheese and biscuits. One of those isn't true."
I am SO rooting for the talking otter. FTW!!! Kay, so, is it Easter yet?

1. How fitting. 2. [white]I feel exactly the same way. But his twirl was good and his excitement is infectious.[/white] 3. [white]I cannot explain the level of squee that I feel over that library card and it's picture. ONE! [/white] I also bring a picture that one would assume is the TARDIS console. i39.tinypic.com/2ce3iu0.jpg

The BBC, among their many other evil deeds, are apparently engaged in a conspiracy against Americans, Canadians...and lostspook... Is there no end to their perfidy? Shocking, isn't it? And, what's more, the Conversatives have just unravelled the Beeb's evil plot to bring down Thatcherism with Helen A and the Kandyman! Only twenty years late, but still... ;D Or, according to some sources, it's really part of an Evil Tory Plot to kill the BBC if they get back into power.

There are worse causes you could die for... ;D
But, as I think I said back when those comments by McCoy got reported in the Sunday Times or whichever paper it was, that really should only be news to people who either haven't seen the stories in question or weren't paying attention when they did...
Very nice clip!
*I think my only criticism so far is that Eleven seems very Tennish at times (probably deliberately - Moffat seems to have a very calculated, dare I say cynical, determination to preserving the show's base through what was always going to be a difficult transmission, even if that means the people who thought this was going to be a reversion to oldschool Who or a wholesale rejection of the RTD era will be disappointed). Then again, that's not necessarily a criticism, just an observation.
But I thought this was great - I loved the little laugh he did as the penny dropped that the were vampires - this Doctor seems to love what he does, even the dangerous bits, and I think that's all to the good. I hope he maintains this air of enthusiasm and fun throughout - sure, there'll be times when he has to get serious (and I wonder how he'll be at that - the one bit of audio where he was shouting at the Dalek sounded a bit like KERRAZZY SEVEN!! as opposed to scary Seven, but it'd be very unfair to judge solely on that), but as long as he steers clear of the feel-my-pain emo stuff I'll be satisfied.
And the card! It's as if Moffat knows that I'm easy for oldWho continuity references, and will squee mindlessly like a Pavlovian dog at the sight of them... If he just throws in something like that every episode, I'm sure I'll be declaring this the BESTEST WHO SERIES EVAR or whatever the preferred BBC PR phrase is... ;D *

Here is a MUCH better picture of the new TARDIS console room. i43.tinypic.com/2vmx4wh.jpg**[white] Have to say I like it. Though it seems a bit... cramped. Though that's hard to tell from just one picture with no people in it. It's like a mix of some Classic elements with the cluttered look of New Who. I like that there are stairs leading off to multiple places, telling you that there are most definitely more rooms. Though so many stairs so near the console seems quite dangerous when you consider how rough the rides get.[/white]**

Who is this woman and what has she done with Amy?!? She's obviously an impostor! Woah, GB, that photo, there was concept art for that on the Who forum on LJ, but the person said they'd made it up. It had the floor holes and everything. And we were all laughing at the rampantly unsafe floor holes.
And now there are floor holes.
Whaaattt?
I now have to find this drawing again, because I'm kind of tripping out. Did the set designers steal from the internet? Are the set designers posting their concept art to LJ? Is it all a hugely bizarre concidence.
Whaaattttttttttttt???***

I'm with Clocket, clearly Amy has been body-snatched by someone with a bit more sensible personal dress. OOooh, is it really only a few days now? Well, the 17th for the States and Canada but still! It's been quite a long time really, since we had a season of DW, I know that seems obvious, but think of all that has happened in that time, it's a bit astounding, really.
For instance, neither of my sons was reliably potty-trained when JE aired (which counts as the last regular episode I think) neither of my girls had started school...

I wonder what kind of music the Doctor's into? It'd have to be something loud, to get the full benefit... ;D
Trousers?? Nah, Photoshop job, that...

There have been some new clips released, which I probably shouldn't have watched because they just made me want the episodes even more. Since said episode will be here in two days, I see no need to repost said clips. Except, well, I think I'm going to like Eleven. Or, at least, I think I'm going to LOVE regeneration-addled snarky and self-conscious Eleven. ;D ;D ;D Also, THISIt's the story of Eleven's costume, so, spoilers for those of you who have avoided pictures. The most pertinent part of this interview however, is not a spoiler: Matt Smith: “I think it has to be an extension of me. We had three huge fittings that went on for hours. I was originally going to have either a black leather coat or a blue swashbuckly one. I was always very keen that the element of the professor would come out. I was reading loads about Einstein at the time. I wrote loads of stories, actually, about the Doctor and Einstein, in Egypt. And that’s how the pyramids were made, because the Doctor rocked up. Because I had six months to prepare it was the only way I could get in contact with the Doctor.”Matty boy just admitted to writing fic. The adorableness is overwhelming.

Yeah, there is another interview where he says he spent most of the time before filming writing stories about the Doctor, as a way to find His Doctor's voice it's really pretty brilliant, I too, am liking the fun and can see where people compare him to Four (so not a spoiler if it is feel free to berate me).
I'm not planning on waiting past Saturday, all lack of Britishness aside, so if anyone comes across anything that day that would help me....feel free to pm it *winks* I like the new TARDIS though I agree with the reporter who said it was "Glam". Which, I think, answers JJ's question as well, Eleven likes 80's hair metal, aka Glam Rock And in that sentence is the birth of my First Eleven Plot Bunny.

That's the spirit Merry - don't let your lack of Britishness disadvantage you! ;D
Only kidding...
I think that's excellent - the boy Smith ficcing away in the six months before they started shooting. And it's an interesting way of getting a handle on the character and getting to know him in preparation for the role. The Doctor and Einstein - in Egypt?!
I now have this image of Eleven air-guitaring his way around the TARDIS console...
But yes, nothing seen so far (and I'm not very good at avoiding spoilers either) has dismayed me or anything. Quite the opposite. The proof of the pudding, though...
Two sleeps to go! ;D

Well, for the first time I am super excited for this season. Writer Spoiler below ** Richard Curtis is writing for 11!!!! YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!!! The writer for Vicar of Dibley, Blackadder, and so much more! I wonder if he is going to make 11 funny since he is good at writing comedy or will he try to write something series. I am soooooooo looking forward to this!!!** ******** So, in the trailer I saw Ami with this guy and I was like "is that Vincent van Gogh?" Then I tried to find out Richard Crutis doctor who (like an idea of what the plot would be) and it turns out RICHARD is the one writing about Vincent van Gogh! I can't wait for this epsiode!!!!! I hope they show crazy Vincent van Gogh was. *********

I'm leaving the reviewing to you the rest of you. I'm more interested in posing some questions that I hope one or more of you might be able to help me answer. First: How do we know it is Rory that Amy is going to marry? I mean two years past since she last saw the Doctor, so her relationship with him might have changed. I was wondering, especially from the comments the Doctor made to Jeff (I believe that's the other bloke's name) about getting a girlfriend and about be coming famous, could it not easily also be him too?Second: When Eleven and Amy are at the duck pond and Eleven falls over, why do you think he says, "...This is too soon. I'm not ready. I'm not done yet"? It sounds odd to me, unless he thought he was going to regenerate again or lose consciousness (as he did in The Christmas Invasion). I did wonder if much like Five and Six just after their regenerations, Eleven was simply having memory flashbacks to his previous lift (perhaps relieving Ten's reluctance to regenerate). What do you guys think?Third: Why does prisoner Zero know him? Besides being in Amy's head, obviously, it speaks as if it knows the Doctor as more. Is it because the Doctor is that well-known and Zero can put name to legend together that easily? What do you guys think?Fourth: Since when does the TARDIS decide what the interior looks like? From previous comments that I recall by the Doctor, it seems like he has control. Should we assume that it constructed by the TARDIS, but the Doctor can change things a bit if he wishes? Such as Five commented to Ten in Time Crash and Four commented once to, I think, either Sarah Jane or Leela.Fifth: Considering how prisoner Zero entered Amy's mind (knocking her into an unconscious but active mind state), does that mean Zero was at fault for all those coma patients? I mean, the Doctor said it takes months for Zero to gain new forms, so maybe those coma patients are his victims, being kept unconscious but appearing as if in a coma. Is that possible?Any help or thoughts on these question would be so much help, particularly if there's something I'm obviously missing. Thanks!

First: I think certain spoilers have come to light, even previous to this episode, that state Rory's identity as Amy's fiancé. Also, I was under the impression that Jeff was her cousin or something? Though I am possibly crazy?
Second:I think that was just typical regeneration madness. The Moff said that Eleven wouldn't be up to full health this episode, sort of like saving the world with the flu or something.
Third: If this were Rusty I'd dismiss it as loose plotting for dramatic effect, but, in combination with some other stuff that happened, I think that Eleven may be playing his cards a bit closer to his chest than he's letting on.
Fourth: My theory is that it was her way of getting back at the Doctor for his blowing her up, but I'm hoping for more TARDIS-Doctor interaction this series. It's the shippest ship of them all!
Fifth: that's what I'm going with anyway...
I hope that's helpful? Though, I've got bunches of questions too! And for the first time in a while, they're actual plot-related questions rather than WTF JUST HAPPENED I DO NOT UNDERSTAND?!?! questions. Ah well, I should savour while it lasts, I'm sure the wtf will coming charging at us soon enough.

Second: [white]I'll admit I thought maybe it was a bit of Ten channeling there. Maybe it was a slight flashback to Ten's regeneration and not wanting to let go. That he felt he had a lot more to accomplish and wasn't given the time. But now, I'm not so sure. [/white]
Third: [white] Good question. I'm not exactly sure. Though Moffat does seem to like having everybody aware of the Doctor in that he's done so much in the universe that he's built a reputation. Just like he's used The Doctor scaring two enemies with just telling them who he is in the Library episodes and The Eleventh Hour. [/white]
Fourth: [white] I was thinking since we initially didn't see the inside of the TARDIS other than a reflection of the light off Eleven's face that maybe on his trip to the moon and back The Doctor fixed up the TARDIS to how he wanted it. Or maybe what we see is a default the TARDIS settled on when it repaired/healed and Eleven just went with it. [/white]
Fifth: [white] I thought maybe Prison Zero chose people already in a coma because it was easier, maybe. Where as he's spent years around Amy and might have a stronger connection with them. Though it's not beyond reason that Prison Zero is the reason for the people being in a coma. [/white]
*shrug*
