This is the post to talk about Planet of the Dead [AKA Riddle of the Sands]. I guess you guys won't have to white out your text but do try to not be too spoilerish. Like telling the ending in caps. Keep the text colour and size on default. None of this mombo jumbo. *points down* DOCTOR KILLS HIS COMPANION Like that, we don't want that.

Okay, I'll refrain from saying things like THE BUS IS REALLY K-9's MOTHER! OR MAYBE A TARDIS! AND IT HAS A JELLY-BABY VENDING MACHINE!
*hasn't a clue*

Is it sad that I'm this excited for a tv show? hehe

Twas a fun little piece of fun.
Wish the people on the bus could have all been a little more useful or developed. But Malcolm was amusing.

I'm going to white it out just to be on the safe side. Nothing majorly spoilery, but read at your own discretion. I might un-white it later once more people have seen it...
I agree, fun. No real classic or anything, but I liked it well enough. Mostly because of Christina. She was great - sad to see her go. Why couldn't she have been a permanent companion? And I totally ship Doctor/Christina. Even before she kissed him. Which was win.
Nice to see UNIT having a chance to be cool without the Doctor lecturing them about how evil guns are.
Somewhat annoying foreshadowing there at the end. I was confused by it until I read other people's reviews who mostly all (I assume) got it and now I feel silly for not realizing it myself. *

In the white to avoid spoilering.
* I began to really like Christina as the special went on but then my like kind of trailed off and I was left rather pleased she left. I think one good adventure with her was good enough.
I kind of assumed what a lot of people seem to be assuming when I heard the "He'll knock four times." line. I am excited. Though I really wish there could have been more reason to have the psychic on the bus other then to just mumble stuff about death and then tell The Doctor that at the end. She seemed to have no real purpose except for the end. *

Sorry for not whiting out, but I'm posting my usual comment-while-watching thingy. And while I'm here, hello to members I have not introduced myself to yet! I'm Kit, you're friendly, not-here-so-often-but-hope-to-be-soon admin!
Planet of the Dead (Easter Special)
Pft, someone can easily slip beneath the motion-sensor thingy-whatsits. And why isn’t it in a nice secure case? (Whatever it is—I imagine something of the alien and powerful and bad-in-the-wrong-hands sort).
Blind security guards are blind.
Pulling the Indiana Jones trick, eh?
…WTF?
Not suspicious at all. Black-clad person running the streets with police everywhere.
xD Lobster card.
Do I spy Doctor-feet?
xD I need to do that to someone. Walk up to random person, ‘Hello I’m --! Happy Easter!
Pft, Doctor is too skinny, he needs to eat more chocolate.
=D Phonetic alphabet! foxtrot-tango-whiskey!
Ah, bus driver is onto it!
Someone’s going mad…
Oh, she has my mum’s name…
Doctor, what did you do now…? Good job, Doctor. Now how are you going to find the TARDIS, wherever you left it?
What is up with mad lady?
How do you know you’re in another world, you could’ve just been transported to the desert.
xD Doctor’s sunglasses ftw.
That’s a bit sucky.
=OOO UNIT! Oh, wait, New!Who has Fail!UNIT… D=
=D DON’T PANIC!
‘Christina’ is creepy.
xD We’re all gonna die!
Doctor’s hair is getting too big in front.
It’s UIT.
Yeah, let’s shoot the wormhole.
UIT is so stupid…
Pft, the Doctor can so fix a bus.
Hmm… clicking, odd hand-things…
Lol, Time Lord.
=D Sandstorm! Jolly spiffing. …
Jiggery pokery.
Martha…? Oh. bloody UIT
Let’s salute to someone on the phone…
What, who is this scientific advisor?! Pffft. Yes, the Doctor, your predecessor. Who was so much more awesome than you in his third incarnation.
OMG, shut up! =DDD GIANT ROBOT! FROM ROBOT, Y/Y?
xD New best friend.
Oh, it’s a fly-like insect thing.
IT’S DEATH! No, wait, bugs!Like the locust… thingy-thing.
It’s a bug-person! Reminds me of old-school costumes.
Oh, no. It’s a Rusty episode. This means the companion forms an emotional attachment to the Doctor.
Rawr, Death is in the sand…
They’re rays! Aww, they’re kind of adorable. …Oh, except when they eat you like that.
OOOOOOOH, crap.
How is that going to rupture space?
An exo-skeleton doesn’t look like a not-exo-skeleton when it’s… exo-.
Pft, someone’s uber-posh.
xD Big red button.
Aw, Donna.
Lol, Wales.
Lol, ‘What the blazes was that?!’
Good show, Christina!
Aww, not bug-things.
No way can you run that fast.
No, don’t kill the history, Doctor! Even if it saves your life…
NO, YOU BLOODY -- !
That rather doesn’t make sense, but I suppose that’s the fi in sci-fi. Oh, of course, anti-gravity explains it.
Now Londoners have a flying bus to speak of. Probably the least exciting, actually.
Close the thing… Oh, bugger.
…Well, that was easy.
UIT is just a tad trigger-happy.
Oh, here we go. Rusty, seriously, this needs to stop.
Lol, Malcolm is a fanboy.
Y halo thar, TARDIS.
We can has new companion now? Aw, come on. Doctor could use a not-goody-two-shoes companion. I don’t think I’d mind, actually.
That’s not exactly reading her her rights. I imagine every police officer would just say et cetera, et cetera if he pleased.
Ugh, not more foreshadowing nonsense.
Come on, new companion…
Aw, again, I think I would’ve liked her as a companion.
Now, wtf is she going to do with a flying bus? She’s so going to get arrested anyway.
xD Later this year, that’s nice.
All in all, I liked it. Nice to have some new adventure-type thing to watch again. I did like Christina, even though I wasn't exactly fond of her in the beginning, or when she did the thing-that-Rusty-has-every-female-companion-do-to-the-Doctor. I think she would've made a good long-term companion, though, and hope to see her again.

Ah hah, found it! Though at first. I was like, wait a sec, what does this cat burglar thing have to do with Dubai and sand and bright sun and stuff? I thought I'd gotten something that wasn't Doctor Who at all. But then Lady Christina took off her hood and I breathed a sigh of relief.
Anyhow, that's all I've seen so far; back to watching!

Kit, you're play by play cracked me up!
It was as if I was watching it all over again. heeeheee
I do have to say, Christina was refreshing in her attitude and way of going about things. But I really don't think she and The Doctor would have traveled together for very long given their attitudes. She came across to me as very selfish, which someone who does what she does would have to be. And would probably do something very stupid and selfish at some point or ditched The Doctor when things got a little too hairy. As she did at the beginning of the episode with her friend/colleague or whoever he was.

=D Heh, cheers!
It was a bit of a refreshing change. I think it could have lasted at least through the specials. Her doing something selfish could have led to (SPOILER ALERT, text whited) the regeneration that is supposed to come with the end of the specials. Actually, I think she could work with a regenerated Doctor, as well. (end spoilers)

Christina was totally flirting with the Doctor during the whole episode - but it was a Captain Jack sort of flirting. I got the impression that the only reason she stuck by him was because it was advantageous to her. Call me cynical, but even at the end it seemed like she was kissing him to curry favor with him so he'd take her with him and she wouldn't go to jail. Don't get me wrong, she's a fun character and I liked her, but like GreatBriton said, she's a very self-serving person.

Don't get me wrong, she's a fun character and I liked her, but like GreatBriton said, she's a very self-serving person. I completely agree. I felt the main reason behind her asking to go along with The Doctor was to get away from the trouble she had gotten herself into. I wish he would have addressed that point along with or instead of his talk of never traveling with anybody again. Cause SadDoctor is sad. But that would be interesting if she did come along for a couple specials and it lead to *SPOILER* her being selfish and causing some issue that leads to Ten having to regenerate. Then I don't think I could ever like Christina. hehe. I'm already kind of up in the air if I liked her in this one special or not.*

Indeed, I do believe she is rather selfish of a person, however it's something of a nice change from, oh, just about every other companion we've had. I think it's something a bit more interesting, though, to have a companion that's almost on the opposite view of things from the Doctor.
And I've been watching just a bit too many period dramas lately, thus the 'Indeed, I do believe...'

I can't say I thought that she was using the Doctor. Amoral, certainly, but I thought they struck up a real partnership. If she had become a companion, it would have been an interesting story arc. Also, wasn't there supposed to be a cat burglar companion after Ace if the show had continued? Kind of reminded me of that.
Yeah, the psychic woman was a bit useless. I have a feeling she was just brought in for clumsy foreshadowing purposes.

I believe I am slightly ashamed to say I might have possibly maybe perhaps become a Doctor/Christina shipper.
In the absence of Who, I have instead been watching more period dramas than is entirely healthy and fear I have become a hopeless romantic.
And I'm speaking in Regency, too.

I felt a twinge of Doctor/Christina, or as someone I saw termed it "Xtina", during the middle of the special. Cause apparently they couldn't STOP flirting with each other. But by the time she actually kissed him I was kind of over it. I thought that moment between them felt a little forced but I liked a lot of their chemistry.
In the end I'd rather just see them out causing trouble together and not have shippy thoughts.
