In the words of the late, great Mr Freddie Mercury, I want it all, I want it all, I want it all and I want it now! At least when it comes to Doctor Who... ;D

So now it's 'how many ways can we kill Ten via cake?"... besides tripping over a brick and consequently choking on a cupcake, I assume...

I don't doubt it, but when I was eighteen, Agent Scully was, as far as I was concerned, some sort of goddess made flesh...
[Homer Simpson]Mmmm...Agent Scully...[/Homer Simpson]
Ahem. Moving on quickly... I'm very much inclined to agree... I don't have red hair, sadly, but I make do just fine with my blondness. ;D

Don't know about cake jj. Sounds more like you want the entire bakery. Now, Magnus, I think you've put your finger on it. It's these Master-like tendencies that will doubtless prove fatal... *sucks breath and shakes head*

*And what's all this business about "The Gate", eh? Is the mysterious knocker (insert Young Frankenstein joke here) who shalt knock four times going to knock on aforementioned Gate? Can we think of any famous Gates in Who?
There was that battle in the Time War, the Gates of Elysium, mentioned in The Stolen Earth, but I don't really think they would have kept Davros, Dalek Caan etc under wraps this long if they really are about to make a surprise reappearance.
Hey, what about Warrior's Gate - Romana (having faked her death in the Time War) shows up from E-Space at the eleventh hour, accompanied by _her_ K9 to sort the whole thing out? I appreciate, as I type this, that it's pure crazy talk, so I'd thank you not to point this out too many times... ;D
I still want to believe my initial theory (which I discover some other people share), that the knock four times thing is a reference to the Master's "du-dum, du-dum" drumming on the table in The Sound of Drums...*

oh yes, the gate, what if the gate is the gate to our universe and that's why he is knocking, the Beast (from satan's pit) or something else from the pantheon coming through to say Hullo Doctor, die.

Ooh, very nice! I won't go overboard yet, because they always put the best bits in the trailer, but yes, looking good thus far. * Bit of an oldschool base-under-siege story, eh? Maybe shades of Horror of Fang Rock if everybody else does indeed die... Well, looking forward to it.
Regarding the Beast, Merry - we do have that spoiler pic of the red-eyed, Satanically-possessed Ood, don't we? Assuming he isn't an hallucination as widely speculated, could he be an emissary of the horned one?
And thinking back, how does Joan Redfern's descendant and her book fit into all this? And the Master too? Sounds like it's going to be a plot and a half, and, well, we know what RTD's like with big complex plot...er... *

Oooo.... *grips seat with excitement*
Can I has now yes please?
Now, I'm thinking that's a fake-out, I'm thinking that at least one person lives, and I'm thinking that whatever the Doctor does to achive this messes up the continuum enough to cause the finale. This is what I think.
Also, I think that Ten in the LOOKIT'STHATSPACESUITAGAIN space suit running around on the surface looks fabulous. And I like that he comes right out of the TARDIS wearing it.
It's not often that he has to exit the TARDIS in survival gear. Usually it parks somewhere a bit more... airy.

CP, I agree almost completely with you and I can tell you why if you want but it's spoilery
** I saw the final scene on youtube without the CG or any other FX quite some time ago and if you want I can post what I saw but I haven't the link as youtube took it down before i could get it and besides it isn't at ALL like the Doctor to stand back and let people die, is it?**

Another thing I've been thinking, based partially on that link of last words:
I've seen it before actually, but now, seeing it after that Sarah-Jane episode, it makes me wonder if they're going to work the Trickster or the Pantheon of Discord into it. Because he says something about Sarah-Jane, and how he thought they were after him, but no, they were after her
And they were going after Donna as well.
And isn't the Pantheon supposed to be related to the Satan's Pit Demon somehow too? And the Ood.
And, and, and... I'm just theorizing in the dark. I love how we're getting SO MANY SPOILERS but no one has the slightest clue what's going to be happening.

yes quite (the pantheon being related to the creature in satan's pit) JJ and I were discussing this and I agree the last words link has to do with SJA as well, after all he told her not to forget him...the pantheon makes sense to me, what doesn't is all the other odd bits, what's her nose and John Smith's book, the master returning, timothy dalton as a timelord, I don't think RTD has enough time left to cover his epic episodes and they will be hastily thrown together ala JE with wasted cameos and all grrrrrrrr

I'm actually getting more optimistic about these, even though I've still got the healthy fear of JE beat into me. With JE, I had some kind of idea what might happen, and I was very nearly right; with this, I've NO CLUE what's going to happen, and this excites me greatly.

planetgallifrey.blogspot.com/^^spoilers above but really more like hints written post-WoM press screening ** I thought I remembered when Pompeii came out that RTD said it was huuuge for the Doctor, perhaps something I can't remember fromt he prophecy? And what MORE can they possibly do with The Runaway Bride?**

Bizarrely enough, I've been wondering when the events of Runaway Bride would come up again. I mean, them huon particles were supposed to be deadly right? and that was never really adequately resolved to my satisfaction...

A theory occurred to me this morning. ** Regarding a link to the Fires of Pompeii . . . what if the character being played by Lindsey Duncan is a descendant of either Evelina or Quintus? Since the Doctor saved them when they were almost certainly supposed to die, wouldn't that mean that she was never meant to be alive and on Mars? Perhaps it banjaxed up the space/time continuum, and fixing that is what will lead to his undoing.
While I'm rampantly speculating, what if Donna is actually from the same bloodline? We don't know how many years in the future this thing is set. She could be Donna's daughter or granddaughter.**

You know LL, you might well be on to something there - and then, with that in mind, Donna's desperation to save someone, anyone, and the Doctor's initial refusal would take on a whole new light; what would have happened if he'd steadfastly refused?
Would she have just blinked out of existence then and there?
*takes speculations and what-ifs to crazy new heights of thread clutching*

*Hmm... I don't know about specific plot points, but I'm thinking that Pompeii will prove to be revelant in relation to all of that changing history, who lives and who dies, fixed points that can't be changed, all of that stuff. I like Clocket's idea that the Doctor breaks his own rule here, the one he's had ever since the Aztecs about being able to change "not one line", and pays for it with his life (this life anyway). Either that, or he refuses to change anything, without Donna or somebody there to persuade him to bend his rule a bit (which is maybe what the mean about The Runaway Bride, where we have Donna's observation that sometimes the Doctor needs someone to "stop him"), but that would be very harsh and bleak, not to mention a bit unDoctorly, and anyway Merry seems to be implying that at least one person survives in the spoiler she saw! ;D
I'm just happy that the Ice Warriors get a shout out; you know me, fanw*nkery makes everything better! I'll be too busy squeeing over that to notice any shortcomings...
Although seriously, the buzz I hear about this so far suggests it will be worth watching. Yes indeed.
And speaking of Romans, Lyndsey Duncan was fantastic as Brutus's mum in my favourite guilty-pleasure TV programme of a couple of years ago, _Rome_; she went from one of the nicer, more reasonable characters to a vengeance-fuelled monster who was the main driving force behind Caesar's downfall (not that he didn't deserve it), and you sympathised with her totally all the way. I liked it, anyway. Not one for the kiddies, though. Definitely not.*
