But my Favourites are up to 180+ (or they were before I started sorting) and this is taking a while. From the sound of things, you could run calufrax single-handed for the next six months ;D

I'm a bit crummy at straight historicals really. If its aliens I can afford to get the details a bit muddled; if it's history I'm terribly afraid of misrepresenting people. I mean, I could just set it in a certain random era and avoid the known figures altogether, but there's so much research involved with it... I dunno, I think misrepresenting historical figures in Whofic is not only kind of amusing and cool (yes, I find slandering dead people kind of funny sometimes - don't judge me), but perfectly in keeping with the actual approach of actual 60s era Who historicals, which let's face it were often telling the version that the writers had heard in some pre-war school history lesson rather than anything approaching the "truth"... ;D And lostspook, you're an example to us all, taking the time and effort to do this. No, really, thanks for all the recs!

You're right of course JJ; historical accuracy is VERY optional in Who innit? I mean, because the history books got it wrong, obviously...
And link fic all you please lost. If you can't pimp yourself here, then where can you?

Aw, thanks. I'll share my Delicious results with folks over on LJ presently, too, in case anyone is feeling bored, with about a month's time to spend reading a random collection of (decent to excellent) DW fanfic. And I have to be librarian-ish somewhere, you see. And Clocket, I agree with JJ - you can just put an Author's Note to say that you wrote it a la 1066 and All That (What You Can Remember) or it's cracky or The Real Truth, or whatever... But I am sorry, because I forgot the important bit where you said you had no spare time for the next decade or so, if not more.

My lack of free time is most disturbing. Yesterday I was so tired from all of it I got home and fell asleep at five something and then... just sort of failled to wake up...
I hate it when I do that. XC

I continue through Early Nine!fic. This seems to be where all the historical fiction has been hiding. Why is that, I wonder? Nine fans are more likely to write historicals? Hmm... Have a pointy drabble: www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=3570Sadly, the chip!fic genre seems to have petered out, and shippiness seems to have taken over - might make getting through things quicker - more to skip lightly over.

Hmm - nice drabble!
Yeah, I wonder why there would be a higher than normal number of Nine historicals... So, Ninefic sort of shows a progression and development over time then, presumably as the series itself became more shippy? I find that very interesting, really.

I'm totally going to follow your lead, Lost! Note: Start reading entire Teaspoon.

I'm totally going to follow your lead, Lost! Note: Start reading entire Teaspoon. I'm kind of in awe of her for it. I mean, the Spoon is like the equivalent of 300 novels or something insane like that... THERE IS SO MUCH FIC IT BOGGLES!

Waaaay more than 300 novels, I think. I'm boggled just looking at the sheer number of fics still whipping past for Ten - of course, if you skipped anything shippy and just went for the Adventure the number would likely drop rather drastically for him.

 I should add here that I am NOT reading the whole of Teaspoon!!! ;D I am working my way through the categories, looking for anything that looks like a decent, non-Adult rated historical or crossover. Of course, if I find other stuff that looks good, I stop and read that, too (or randomly add it to my faves for later, which is why I had to sort them out via Delicious the other week, because random and many were the words). If anyone else wants to read through the site, I will fetch the necessary brain bleach - there are indeed some corners of the universe that have bred terrible things. They must never be read... I'm amused that JJ just wants to analyse it instead. (I think it defies analysis, but probably it tends to be down to the fact that a group of users tend to write stories at similar times, and then the next generation of fanficcers gradually move on. And, lo, chip!fic gets forgotten. Although there was still one, at least.) In the dim and distinct future, archaeologists will contemplate the cake!fic genre with equal puzzlement for cultural significance. I'm giggling again. It really isn't as impressive as it sounds! I'm just working my way through the pages, keeping a note of where I stop, and sometimes forgetting about it for ages. And I can just skim over things, not like properly reading fic (as in the stuff peoples round here write, for instance), to see whether it can go on the hist and crossover sites. But, yeah, picture me sailing off, a lone Auton Daisy, armed only with a bookmark and a spare phial of brainbleach. And a sword. You can't go on a quest without one, so I hear...

A comedy sidekick...what you really need on a quest like that is a comedy sidekick... ;D
I...just like analysing things. And indeed overanalysing them. It amuses me. But I do notice and am interested by these waves that seem to go through the Teaspoon (not just cakefic! ;D), either in response to things that happen in the TV programme or just ins response to other fanfic or to fan "controversies". I think somebody could write a good dissertation on it or something (and somebody or other very well might be, or have already for all I know).

I come bearing a rec. It is technically Nine/Rose. Or Nine/Rose/Jack, or something, but also very amusing. The TARDIS translater starts playing up, and so does Jack. And the Doctor... Warning for Jack being Jack, so PG. www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=5144

Now, I've been known to make silly typos and it's not like my fic is the work of genius... but why would anyone think it's a good idea for their story blurb to be 'just a silly fic I wrote with a shameless Mary-Sue thrown in just because...' or 'this is my first drabble. Very silly.' I suppose at least it's honest or something...

It's been quite a few pages since the last decent story. Some more genuine blurbs:
Please read! Please review! Awww G_d! I'm beggin ya here! It's a good story, really it is!
has a lil mystery and I changed the ending to an episode, both VERY obvious, can you guess which?
I wrote to pass my writer's block on some of my other stories. Not my best work, read it if you want a laugh.
Oh, hang on, interesting crossover alert...
