Is that better? -will spare the angry commenting and go into admin mode- Could you resize some of those pictures so they don't stretch the board?

I don't like the second of those pictures because Rose looks like me in that picture, except without glasses, and that disconcerts me because her personality is such a polar opposite to mine.

I don't think it's a good idea for the doctor to get involved at ALL. With Rose or otherwise. Too much drama, if you ask me, and I have the ugly feeling it would upset too many female whovians globally.
If you don't mind me saying.

I just don't think the Doctor should have, er, 'relationships' of the non-platonic kind with his companions. Sure, I don't mind shipping in fandom, I even do it, but I don't think it should be in the actual show.

*shocked .... gasp* No shipping with the Doctor???! *giggle* Nah, you are both right. I prefer the non fluffy, romance Doctor too. That's why I'm happy Rose and Martha have both moved on. I hope DW returns to its roots with action, adventure, humor... and only a tiny bit of emo mixed in. Here's hoping Moffet will do just that.

I wish David could've been like that. He did everything else right. Excessive romance just got in the way is all. I think if they took Rose out, he'd be AMAZING... but that's all "coulda woulda shoulda" now, isn't it?
*sigh* oh well...

I see we are of like minds. Granted... I liked Rose before she became all lovey-dovey and the focus of everything. Just like I loved Martha when the writers weren't having her be annoying and puppy-eyed. *sigh* I don't even mind the romance so much, but it needs to be relegated to the side. When it starts taking over plot lines something is seriously wrong.

Agreed. Also, I think Martha was just overall BETTER than Rose because she ended up saving the DOCTOR. I think if rose had been with him, it would have been more, "Fat lot of good you were, Rose Tyler! You gave up on me! AGAIN! You think I'd learn by now." Screaming away in all of his rude-and-not-ginger glory.

Rose was really "dead" by the time I got around to watching doctor who, so....yea.
What I have seen of her was okay, but I really didn't like the romance of it all. Stop flirting and get on with the action! Thats my idea of it.

I think there are spoilers in here for me. Anyway, I just watched "Utopia" again last night, Jack and Martha were going on about romantic things and how the Doctor goes for blondes or something (Rose), and I liked it very much when Tennant yelled at them, saying they were all 100 trillion years in the future, at the end of the Universe, and here they were "blogging"!
That was perfect. If only the Tenth were around at all times in real life to say that to RTD. It might as well be ST: The Next Generation, where they could be dealing with a supernova but there's always time for Geordie to get insecure about his love life for twenty minutes. Some sense of proportion please! Look, end of the Universe! No admittance fee! Pay attention!

Oh, you beautiful, beautiful people. Finally I'm not the only person who really was not a fan of a 'shipped Doctor! For the romance alone, I'm not a fan of Rose.
When Rose first showed up, I thought she was kind of cute. Being 19 myself when I first started watching the show, seeing her run along with some enchanting alien (and when is the Doctor ever not enchanting?) seemed like a great story, even if I'm physically and personality wise a polar opposite to her. Annnnd then the Doctor regenerated. I'll give you that David and Billie have chemistry, but come on. Rose is 22 when she shows up again and the Doctor is 900 something; saying there is an age gap is putting it mildly. What does he really, truly, see in her to spark a romance? He's seen war and everything imaginable, and she's the simple shopgirl from London? I think it was.....
Anyway, I'm just not for the Doctor with anyone. Though if I did have to pick, my vote has always been on Romana. The Doctor needs love, sure, but I think it should come from another Time Lord. Pairing him with humans just seems kind of weird. Like matching a banana with grapes or something. O.o

You're right. There always has been something offbeat about cross-species relationships. I'm pretty sure they're laws against it. And even so, I'm not sure they even have the same physiognomy to make it... er... "work".
And... I'm shutting up now. :X

A banana with grapes... ?? That is possibly the best metaphor for why Rose/Doctor doesn't work I've ever come across.
I rather occilate on how much I like/hate Rose as a character. Currently I'm on the lke end of the cycle, but I still don't want her and the Doctor shipped.
ROmana/Doctor is the OTP! (and Donna/Doctor, which, in my mind, is only a permutation of Romana/Doctor. Because Donna is Romana. Yes. This is Trufax)

Haha, Donna is Romana. I'd heard that before and was like, wha.....? It amuses me so.
Thanks, btw. I thought my metaphor was pretty nifty *grin*.
Anyway, yeah. Really liked Rose in the beginning, I just wonder what she had going for her that was so great. She was sweet and nice, but.....I guess by comparison to other companions she seems rather ordinary.

Rose I didn't really like as a character. However I must admit that she was okay, in terms of personality. It was her love affair with the doctor that bugged me the most. The very first who I ever saw was Rose's last episode. It was strange..... I did see some more of her later, and she was okay.

I'm sorry but I have just rewatched the entire series two and I just don't like Rose in it. I love her in series one, it's just when ten is about that Rose gets well and truly useless (understandable I reckon, but STILL) Though I was surprised at how much that final arc STILL affected me, even in light of the end of series four (is that a spoiler?). So what I guess I am saying, is that, while Rose is not my fave companion neither is she the devil many make her out to be. Basically, I think poor Rose got a bum rap for being the one to push the boundaries a bit, and test the waters, and in the end, I'd rather not see the Doctor alone forever, so I, for one, am glad she did.
PS Wanderlust I soooo agree with you on the amusement, though it saddens me as well, let Donna rock because she is Donna not because she is Romana.
