I was just doing some research to try to figure out if that poem is from somewhere else or was written for the show, and so far haven't found any references to it outside the context of the show. On another note, I did find this interesting tidbit while perusing the wikipedia page:
'The seventh episode of series six was the 777th episode of Doctor Who, but there are no seven puns as the production team did not realise this until after shooting.' -Wikipedia

Hmmm... let me think of Seven puns.... "Seven-Eleven"? "Sweet Seven-teen".... "Seven Heaven?" (Naw, they'll confuse it with Doctor #7....)

After seeing this one, I got out Invasion of Time, and I'm halfway through. I was very relieved to find that RTD/SM Who hasn't distorted and destroyed my ability to connect with "my" Who, as I was really afraid it had. Some of the old enthusiasm came back.
This story (AGMGTW) is very noisy, jumpy, active, flashy... stories like these are working so hard to be great, that they forget to be good. Dial it way down, please. I found that I was far more able to suspend disbelief during IoT than with AGMGTW, even while finding new flaws in the sets. I find more in a few lines of the terse political dialogue between Four and Borusa than I do in the entire run of RTD/Moffat Who.
I did like the Sontaran. Not only was he fun, but looked like a Sontaran, and wasn't insanely tiny. I can't comment on whether things made sense, because it all just sort of flashed by me. It had diverting things going on. I have to say that if I ever cared even a bit about who River Song is, finding out the "secret" killed the interest off entirely. What is the slightest bit interesting about finding out Amy and Rory are her parents? It's time travel, these things happen. So now River can send them Mother's and Father's Day cards. I am not a soap opera fan. I don't care who's having whose baby.
As that old Doctor Who feeling came back, with Invasion of Time, I realized all over again that everything I watch Dr Who for isn't there in the current show. The whole feel and attitude and look make it a separate series, which I wouldn't watch if it had no connection to original Who. Or maybe it would be easier to watch if they didn't claim a connection to DW...

A thought. In the run-up to the Hitler-Killing extravaganza last night, Aunty Beeb has been repeating the first half of S6 on some channel or other (I watched them on my bestest friend nowadays, BBC iPlayer ;D). So, I watched AGMGTW the other night and...I still think it's deeply flawed in a lot of ways, but I did like it better than I did when I watched it back in May or whenever it was. I think a big part of it was that there wasn't that three-month wait at the end, you know, the crushing sense of "is that it??" that I experienced the first time round. Interesting. To me, anyway.

I didn't think Lets Kill Hitler did so much to continue the storyline of AGMGTW, as it tied up the story unexpectedly and quite nicely, for now...

I just realised that if Amy's daughter had taken 'Williams' as a surname, the prayer leaf would have had to read " Billie Piper".

Which would bring a whole new terror to that *regeneration* scene in Let's Kill Hitler... ;D

I just realised that if Amy's daughter had taken 'Williams' as a surname, the prayer leaf would have had to read " Billie Piper". This is brilliant! And there would have been some kind of timey wimey, universe re-boot reason why she was back in this dimension.

It's the piper that worries me.... I'm stipulating that the only form of music they had in the Gamma Forest would have been the bagpipes.
