Right, so I've finally got round to watching this. I've only gone through ten minutes so far, and tears are streaming out I'm laughing so hard. I'm not sure if this is because it's so good, or because Paul McGann is so pretty... and he has the FLOFFY HAIR!
though... it migt just be because hearing two Doctors swearing at each other is just so odd, yet funny.
There is something living in their dishes.
I love this.
EDIT
Paul MacGann in leather... this is tripping me out
EDIT
Richard E. Grant REALLY needs to put on pants. Like. NOW!
NO! Don't hurt Paul!! His little monologues are sooo adorable..
PAUL IS IN A BATHTUB!!! awwwww.... I am scarily reminded of that Eccelston in a bathtub scene I stumbled across once
oh well. He's pretty (they both are)
Now he's wandering about in a towel.
There is so much pretty on display.
That Dan person isn't pretty though. He's kind of scary.
Paul mcGann is pretty.

I knew you'd like it. Yes, Withnail and I is one of my favorite movies ever. There are so many quotable lines in that film! Just as a warning... you might want to prepare yourself for some... er... nevermind. I don't want to ruin it for you. I'll just sit back and wait for you to explode from the shock of it.

Glad you like it. It is one of my favorite movies. Wait until you get towards the end. I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard!
They did a great job with this film. The fact there are two doctors in it makes it even better.

This is where I first saw Eight with his shirt off as a matter of fact.
Isn't that where the quote, "Screw the shirt! We saw him with his PANTS off." originated?

I watched part one. Will watch the rest later today. So far it is not impressing me. Grant kind of annoys me too. This is me though. I like things no one else does and I hate things everyone likes. Like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. I don't get what is so great about those games.

That's okay, my room mates didn't like it either... though, the scene at the end with poor traumatised Paul made them laugh. I like the chicken scene. And the eel scene "Don't you wave that fish at me!"

"Don't you threaten ME with a dead fish." is six shades of awesome. As is: "Relax man. Find your neutral space." (My dad was REALLY angry one day, so I delivered that line to him. Needless to say, he didn't think it was as funny as I did. ) My favorite line still remains to be: "Oh it's no accident! They're throwing themselves into the road willingly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape this idiocy! Throw yourself into the road darling! You haven't a chance!"

I love it when they are drunk in the coffee shop. "we're not drunk! We're multi millionaires!"

Throw yourself into the road darling! You haven't a chance!" Oh gosh! I forgot that one! How could I forget that one??? It made me laugh so hard I nearly peed myself. Such a good movie. I must now watch it obsessively and try to find a copy of it on DVD... somewhere.

I hesitate to mention it, because some of you are at impressionable sort of ages ;D but there is of course the infamous Withnail & I drinking game, to which I was once party back in my dissolute student days.
Basically the idea is to drink the same things the characters in the film do at the same time as they do. Now, I hasten to add, drinking large amounts of alcohol in an obnoxious, studenty sort of way is neither big nor clever and, in this particular instance quite likely to be fatal, given that Withnail and Eight consume something like the annual alcohol intake of Belgium in the course of the movie.
In our case, we sort of gave up about twenty minutes in, and totally wimped out on the bit with the lighter fluid (I jest - we weren't really considering drinking lighter fluid folks - just say no, ok, kids?), but still, the movie still has a special place in my heart...
Er...right, seriously kids - ignore all of the above, okay? ;D

-Blinks-
That quite probably *would* be fatal, and I'm very glad to hear that you wimped out at the lighter fluid bit JJPOR.

I have shocked you with the all-too-candid revelation of events from my chequered past. To reiterate; we were young and stupid; no lighter fluid was actually involved - and look after your livers now, you young'uns, cos you'll miss them when your're older... To drag this sort of back on topic, I recently read (somewhere I can't remember, so can't link to right now) RTD's somewhat disparaging opinions of Richard E Grant's turn in Scream of the Shalka, saying something like he was never in the running to play Nine on TV because RTD thought that he gave a lazy performance.

Haha, I could shock you with events from my checked past AKA this weekend, or Belize, or that time in Hull when... yeah... alcohol is bad. Stay away from it. It gives you headaches and makes you make an ass out of yourself (while thinking that you're being brilliant, you don't realize you were an ass until the next day). badddd.... Doctor Who is much better. I dunno if it makes me anti-social, but I prefer sitting alone in my room watching some Classic DW to going out drinking any day. That said, Withnail is a hilarious drunk to watch (as is I), and REG did an AWESOME job in Shalka what is RTD smoking? Shalka!Doc is my favourite non-official Doctor (I actually prefer him to some of the 'real' Doctors) I like to pretend that Shalka!Doc is actually the Doctor's last incarnation, wandering about depressed with his robo!Master boyfriend. Such fun. speaking of which, I'm going to take this opportunity to once again advertise these fics: www.whofic.com/series.php?seriesid=109I didn't write them, but they are awesome beyond belief. Watch the webcast after episode four for full effect.

I'll take your advice on the drinking. I have encountered drunk people before, and I don't want to make an idiot of myself. Cool fiction, clocket. I'll finish it later,, but from what I read it is pretty good.
