I too heard that there was going to be a New Year's special, and that it was going to be a two-parter with the Christmas special... and would ring in both a new Doctor as well as a new year. I hope for the new year WHO.

I also heard that the Master was supposed to be in it, though, so I wasn't sure if it was actually official or just speculation.

OH!!! community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/33844983.htmlIn white: Okay, maybe you didn't catch the really squee part of this post, the bit hidden in the fine print beneath Mr. blondy-locks (which is an OMG I thought that was just a rumour, OMG type spoiler in and of itself) but apparently the blondy picture has been cropped, and in the original, standing beside him...
turn back if you are weak of heart or afraid of this spoiler...

(CENSORED) BLEEPING BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP Clocket!!! How can I look? How can I not? ? *gnashes teeth and weeps* I've looked now and whitedness follows ** ZOMG!!!!! Wilf, the Master, I could take or leave, but WILF!!!! YES!!!! Clocket, Donna was ALWAYS going to return it hardly makes her Romana, unless all mouthy companions who keep coming back are Romana, so Sarah Jane, Teagan the list goes on. The Doctor is going to have to save Donna, and god help me, Midori may be right and the only way to do it is include her in a regeneration. i don't think so, mind I DO think she'll return and I cannot tell you how utterly pleased I am with this notion.**

to be honest, I'd probably be annoyed if they did make her Romana. It's just my little pet theory that I keep throwing at people. Really, I don't care WHAT they do; it's Wilf, it's the Master, presumably we'll see Donna. Hopefully she'll get a more satisfying ending. And, if we're really, really lucky, she can get into a bicker-y argument with Simm!Master and give him a slap. Because that would be win.

**I hope you know, I am only teasing about your Donna/Romana theory, it's as good a theory as any, especially considering how bloody often they zoomed in on her ridiculously large ring, I just hope it means chameleon arch to save her or the like, idk. Donna slapping the Master would be absolute win, Clocket, with a side of just that cool thrown in for kicks.**

In fact, I'll say that again: * Simm coming back was rumoured, but it's good to have confirmation. I don't know what I think of the Master having a dodgy dye-job, but I'll just be happy if Ten meets his end fighting the bounder on top of something incredibly high/somewhere incredibly radioactive/something like that. I had to LOL at the comment below where someone suggested the Master could kill Rose. Whoever they are, I like their thinking... ;D
And Wilf is an even more welcome return. I suppose we can assume Wilf means Donna too, which, while it would be excellent, would also make a bit of a mockery out of the Doctor's actions at the end of Journey's End, because presumably some solution will be found to her "little problem". But yes, Donna would be good; Wilf would be even better. Now, just as long as Rose stays in the Infernoverse with Handy, and/or gets killed by the Master ( ;D), then all will be well.
No Daleks, though, RTD; I'm warning you... You can have Davros though, cause he was great.*

He's looking pretty fine in that picture. I am more happy with the fact that a DW ONTD forum had people happy and none of the ~cool~ people going "David is ugly. I am going to puke and watch Britney Spears now."

** WHAT. !!!
I had heard Master rumors but actually seeing John Simm himself...well, I'm actually not too happy about it. Nothing against Simm, he's a lovely actor, but I'd prefer it if the Master, you know, regenerated.
Also, WILF!!!! **

Newton, I'm not quite sure what you're talking about but that couldjust be because I'm tired... hmm... now with those rumours confirmed, I wonder what we can think of the others on the first page of this post... Sea Devils anyone? How about Paul McGann (yes please). Or, random as anything... Brian Blessed returning as Yrcanos??? LOL, that would make finishing my random Peri, Yrcanos, and Jack fic more interesting... though I doubt that.
Sea Devils I can see, and Jenny. Hmmm....
I now has, like Christmas sugar plums, visions of an epic arc including Ten, The MAster, Donna, Wilf, and Seas Devils, and Ten regeneration as caused by the MAster (because you're right JJpor, the Master REALLY, really has to be the cause of it) and some slap-tastic Donna moves, and... ooooo...
I really, really, really can't wait for the specials!**

Look, I know it's nice to see old favourites brought back to the show, but I don't really see why everybody's squeeing so much - I didn't think the Krotons were that good the first time round; Lord knows why RTD wants them in the Xmas special... (I kid; that was an attempt at humour, folks). * I'm willing to bet that Donna reads the book written by Joan Redfern's great-granddaughter or whatever and that somehow revives her memories in a non-fatal, RTD-handwavy sort of way. It does, however, mean that the Journey's End climax becomes nothing but pointless angst for angst's sake. As Chuck Heston might have said: "Damn you Rusty, damn you to hell!"
A horrible absolutely cracktastic thought occurs to me; I don't think it's remotely likely, but you could almost see RTD pulling something like this: what if...Joan Redfern and "John Smith" got even, well, even...closer to each other than we actually saw on screen (ignore their Edwardian social mores and assume they got a spare five minutes or so between scenes), and thus the modern-day Redfern-descendant, is, in a very real sense, the Doctor's (or John Smith's Great Grand) Daughter!!! (Cue lots of pointless Ten!angst)*

*I was theorizing about Joan Redfern's grand-daughter on another board and came to some similar conclusions. I like the idea of Donna reading the book to get her memory back, however, if RTD crosses the fanfic line and makes John/Joan progeny I might get seriously weirded out. The Doctor doesn't *do* that.
The universe explodes if the Doctor dances!!
...granted, exploding universes are just the sort of thing I expect from a Rusty finale. Should I be worried?*

**Please don't think I like it, I'm merely stating will be easy enough for them to skirt. *cries* I don't LIKE Joan, I think she's weak I'd sooner see he n Donna procreate, and GOD FORBID! I may actually stop watching in that event, not the oens before it of course just all the ones after. *grins* **
