It has been confirmed (by sneaky photo evidence from Cardiff) that Nick Courtney is going to appear in the second series of the Sarah Jane Adventures as Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart.

And! I've also heard that Mina Anwar will be in this series. She played Constable Habib in The Thin Blue Line, which is probably my second-favourite TV show ever (three guesses what's first).
So, yes. A series full of awesome, I can't wait!

Is it just me, or is SJA becoming more awesome than the parent show?
I mean... we only get four eppies of DW this year, but we get the full amount of SJA and
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Brigadier!!!
Oh, if that is true I will be so happy I will burst with happy.
If he's in one of the specials with Ten that will make me even happier

It is, really. It's not all OMG EMO. Then, that could because it's 'aimed' at a younger audience. But it's the best darned kid's show I've ever seen.

Interesting...very interesting... I can't wait to see the fanboys jumping to daft conclusions when they find out that the new series features a character called Rani... Ah, the Brig...I can't wait to see the Brig!

The Brig! The Brig!
lol, I like how they start off with "It's not been the best kept secret but..."
And yeah, I've already come across a few daft theories on Rani. *rolls eyes*

Apparently Rani is a fairly common name.
But! (Aside from the Brig) Mina Anwar! Seriously, where can I find The Thin Blue Line fandom? 'Cos it's non-existent as far as I can tell.

I didn't connect the name at all until you said. I remember watching The Thin Blue Line and thinking it was very good, even if it proved that 80s radicalism was well and truly dead - I mean, Ben "Mrs T" Elton and Rowan "Not the Nine O'Clock News" Atkinson collaborating on a sitcom where the "pigs" are the good guys?! Although I suppose Inspector Grim and his detectives were still "bad cops" in their own incompetent way. And another Who connection; David Haig, the actor who played Inspector "stop fannying about!" Grim, and who is a very good actor indeed, btw, appeared prominently in The Leisure Hive, which I really rather like, for all of its obvious flaws, even if it does mark the beginning of the dread JNT era. (And no, before any of you come round here with your scurrilous accusations, I don't only like it because it features Lalla Ward in that sailor costume, okay? : Oh, and if you ever get a chance to see the Leisure Hive DVD, listen to the commentary - Lalla Ward, Chris Bidmead and the director, Lovett Bickford - it's all very polite, but you can pick up something of the real tensions that must have existed on the show between JNT and co taking over, with their new vision, and them getting rid of the existing cast members. Very interesting listening.

Very interesting listening. I rather picked up on that tension during the Warriors of the Deep commentary... Tegan was poking fun at JNT's love of Hawain shirts and how he foisted that love on others. Then Davison was questioning why Peri was American, and Tegan's kind of "well, it was JNT's idea, and anyway, I'm Australian" Davison "Yes, but that was because he thought having you as an Australian stewardess would somehow convince Air Australia to give us all flight discounts" O.o
