Darn, I need to watch that now! I must've started it at least three times and never got past K-9 going kaboom in the water. I've seen all of Four up through City of Death and then stopped for unknown reasons.

LOL ;D I'll grant you that her and Four are somewhat smug together, but I somewhat like her style....more than somewhat, in fact

His last season is better... but the change in costume throws me off. That said, I haven't seen that much of either. though... I've heard that the E-space trilogy is coming out, which makes me happy because maybe now I can finally get to finish watching the vampire story (it consistantly gets taken off youtube before I can finish it!)

You make a very valid point, LOL Tom's penultimate season is a very mixed bag, I'll agree - it hits some very high notes, and some very dodgy ones, too. Destiny of the Pepperpots, for instance - well, not as good as Genesis, is about the kindest thing you can say about it. City of Death, OTOH, is pure genius, and I'll fight to the death any man who says it isn't! (not really, btw - fighting not my forte). The last season, I quite like, really; my favourite is probably Warriors' Gate, even if it is inpenetrable, which I saw once, years ago, and badly want to see again. The E-space trilogy is coming out on DVD??!! When?? I'll start saving my pennies now...

Davison "Yes, but that was because he thought having you as an Australian stewardess would somehow convince Air Australia to give us all flight discounts" O.o LOL - the JNT era is full of such anecdotes, isn't it? I don't want to bash the guy; I mean, he's no longer with us, so I don't, but some of his choices on the show were very...interesting... Regarding the Leisure Hive commentary, Chris Bidmead and Lovett Bickford are very critical indeed of Tom Baker. He was, by all accounts, absolute hell to work with, especially if you were a director, so you can't really blame them, but the interesting thing is that Lalla Ward really sticks up for Tom, which actually is interesting considering the less-than-happy history between them. You get the impression that there was a them-and-us thing going on between the two lead actors and JNT-and-crew, and two conflicting visions of what the show should be; tongue-in-cheek and for the kids, which is what it had become during the tail end of Baker's run, versus serious and for the fanboys, which Bidmead seems to advocate, and which, arguably, damaged the show's standing greatly during the 80s. Bidmead is actually quite critical of Bickford's direction, too. All in all, It's a fascinating listen, all very jolly and polite and friendly on the surface, but with some serious passive-aggressive vibes going on. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Oh, er, on-topic...er, I can't wait to see the Brig again! (oh, I already said that), er....

It's not Romana, I think. Romana I was my first Classic companion, for a friend loaned me her Key to Time VHS box-set. But I never really connected with her, even though her chemistry with the Doctor was brilliant. I guess towards the end of the Tom era was sort of off-putting for me. I don't even really know why I stopped where I did. I do plan on watching them all some time, though.
I personally, enjoyed Destiny. If only for the humourous Romana regeneration scene and 'Oh, look! Rocks! =D'
Well, it is Douglas Adams. I think that's all that needs to be said.
And returning to the somewhat lost topic, I am watching all of Sarah's serials in preparation for SJA. Hopefully I'll get through them all before the series actually starts... And I plan on doing new commentaries for each one, even if I've already done some. I'll not repeat any here, but I will post them all together on my LJ.
