I'm thinking of writing a crossover fic between Doctor Who and The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. LeGuin. Is there anyone here who's read the book who'll let me pick their brain a bit?

Ooo, I haven't but I've wanted to for a very long time. I can never seem to find a library copy. It drives me batty.

It is an amazing book and I would recommend it to anybody. It's about a planet without gender, and I thought that it would be really interesting have Team TARDIS visit the planet. The Team TARDIS would, of course, have to include Jack, because his perspective would be so different from a 21st century human's. I just haven't decided which Doctor or which other companion. Besides, there's no rush. I'm not going to start this fic until I've finished "Two Legacies," which has quite a ways to go.

Right! Legacies! I have to finish reading that! How is it that I keep forgetting these things... lots of things. It's starting to get concerning.

This book is sitting in my "to be read" pile, but I don't know when I'll get to it. I love Ursula LeGuin, so if I get around to reading it soon I will let you know. I'd be happy to discuss!

We should have a book club.

That would be awesome. I can think of many books that Whovians would like.

I think a book club is a superb idea!

At first I was a bit weary to start a book club but I then thought we could have a lazy bookclub. Meaning, we pick books to read and each book will have it's own topic thread, but it's not like you have to read it by a certain time or whatever, hack, you can read it two months later. We can even add some WHO related books once in awhile.
My problem is, my book recommendation may be a little to personal or over all messed up.

LeGuin and Gene Wolfe were the last SF authors I was reading when the eye thing hit me. I remember liking LHoD, but now remember nothing about it.
