I am from Ohio in the U.S., and I have been a Doctor Who fan since 2006. I knew a little about Doctor Who prior to that, but had rarely had any opportunity to see it prior to it's revival. It isn't a typo in my profile, I actually was born on the day that "The Unearthly Child" was first aired in the UK, so I think that I was born to be a fan really. I am slowly catching up on classic Who via DVD and YouTube.
I read about this site at a Teaspoon and an Open Mind, so decided to join. I love reading everyone's stories there, and have started to post stories of my own. So far it has been mostly drabbles, but I plan to write some longer things too.

Wow, sounds like you fit right in if ever a person did. Welcome to the family, LibraryLover - love your name, btw... Are you using the same name on Teaspoon? I'll have to watch for your works.
You've found one of the most lovely little Who-communities you could ever wish for here, they're a wonderful bunch of folks. I'm another Who-vintaged fan, an old-school fan for the most part, preferring Doctors One, Two and Three with the others following in varying order according to mood, but we have all types here - even those who will champion poor old Six. Pleased to meet you!

Born to be a Who-fan indeed! That's quite awesome really. ;D Welcome to the forum and I hope you quite enjoy yourself here. We're a varied bunch from vintage to spring chickens. I got into Who with Nine, though I'm also quite fond of Three and Seven (and, well, all of them). I was born roughly a week after the last episode of DragonFire aired, so you can figure out my age from that Feel free to poke around, resurrect old threads, chat in the c-box, whatever - and, as Merry said, if you ever neec any help finding Classic episodes... *winkCOUGHwink*

I am Newton. I here more for social reasons than Doctor Who, but I do like the show. I host Doctor Who Live, which is Saturday Nights at 9:00pm EST. Though I am working on weekends so I can't really host .... yadda yadda yadda. Anyway.... I am crazy, ruthless and ..... crazy .... and a fangirl so be aware. Right not I am so into Christopher Eccleston. Yes I am David Tennant fan I am ... er...... not so proud but I love him. I have no favourite Doctor and I love cats ... they are great animals. Soccer too, I like that stuff...I should go check to see if a game is on. A game is always on, never on the channels I have though. Nope, no soccer on my channels. Now I am just typing and being very random, I should go back outside, it was nice outside, I like outside.

To clocket; I like that; I shall try to use it more often in daily conversation... ;D
Hi there, librarylover, and welcome to the boards; I was an oldschool Who fan before the new series came on the scene, and, well, I like to grumble about it sometimes, but it has its moments, and I still watch it, don't I, so who am I to complain? Seven is *my* Doctor, for a variety of reasons, but you know, some of that 70s and 60s stuff is magnificent; the 70s were probably the heyday, as they were for some things, although not for others... As others have said, with a birthday like that, it was more or less destined that you should be a Who fan. Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here, and that the gang will make you feel at home; they are a friendly, approachable sort of bunch. ;D
I was born somewhere in between Invasion of Time and The Ribos Operation...which is weird to think about, really...

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I should have credited Merry as being the one who inspired me to come to this site, because she mentioned it in the notes for her excellent new story "Feed Your Head", which is a very good read!

My name on Teaspoon is Library_Lover, so please check out my stories. This is my first time writing any kind of fan fiction, plus it's been a long time since I wrote creative fiction, so I really would welcome con crit from all.
Yes, I'm in my 40's but I am still quite capable of becoming a squealing fangirl over David Tennant. I don't care if it makes me unpopular, because love means never having to say you're sorry! I like 4, 5, 9 and 10 the most so far. I need to view more episodes of the other Doctors, but I'm sure I will like something about all of them.

I was saying this yesterday, the Beatles had middle age women fangirling over them. There are old ladies who fangirl, you are never too young to fangirl! LONG LIVE FANGIRLS!!!! They keep the economy going.

Greetings, librarylover! Settle in, get comfortable, try not to cause any temporal paradoxes if you can help it. I think you'll do fine. That is a very cool birthday. I was born somewhere in between Survival and er....Dimensions in Time.
Some of us at least try and play it cool, but I think mostly we're all at heart squealing fanpeople of some aspect of the show or another. Shhh, don't tell.

O.o I don't care if it makes me unpopular, because love means never having to say you're sorry! I spent a good portion of that movie oggling the main character's college scarf and coveting it. Then I bawled my eyes out.

Hello, librarylover! It's nice to meet you; I hope you like it here. I was born between The Greatest Show in the Galaxy and Battlefield, and in America as well, so it took until the new series to me to be introduced to Doctor Who, but I have since watched most of the classic series and am a fan of the entire show, be it classic, NuWho, or audio.

It's from the movie Love Story, which is a really depressing love story, about two people giving up everything to be together, and then dying. Yeah...

Well Newton, only one of them dies, so it is even more of a tearjerker. It starred Ryan O'Neal and Ali McGraw.
To be honest I haven't seen Love Story in ages, and I don't really like it that much. It is just a classic movie quote, and I love to quote movies.

It's not a Baaad movie, persay, but I suppose it speaks volumes that I was more obsessed with the main character's scarf than the whole doomed romance thing (okay, maybe that says more about me than the movie; it was a very pretty scarf though!)
Also, LL, movie quotes are quite win. Quite.

I only have the foggiest recollections of that show. I'm just sitting here grinning at the clocket/scarf thing.
