Why does Cp get to be Sparky? Wait, never mind, I don't want to be Sparky. Whew, that was close.
I'm nuts for Three. Sometimes the stories settle into a mundane formula, but I think that's series fatigue from the workload, it happens on all shows. When the writing's good, though, characters' personalities come back to life, though, and I love Three's. He's snooty, but only in opposition to stuffy, pompous authority figures without imagination or a sense of responsibility... in a good cause, in other words. He values Jo over the stuffed shirts and even the Brig (whom he's a bit too hard on sometimes), because she has more life and more of a sense of adventure than the others there, and a healthy childlike mindset, as opposed to "childish".
Three even embraces being "childish", though. That line about there not being a point to being an adult unless you can be childish sometimes is classic Three (though classic Four even more). That's my Pertwee, even if we don't always get to see him.

Jo: "You're being childish"
Doctor: "What's wrong with being childish? I *like* being childish"

That was fast! Now what was the similar Four line? It may have been in "Robot".

"What's the point in being grown-up if you can't be childish some of the time?"

...(gotta drive my car.... ) But it's such a COOOOL car! It completely suits his wonderful old-fashioned capes and swooshiness, and Jo looks so very nice in it alongside him. One other favorite Jo moment - when they both think the other one is dead and then they rediscover one another in the jungles of "Planet of the Daleks", you swear they would've happily eloped right then. Total squee! for both.

You've reminded me how much I want Frontier in Space and Planet of the Daleks to come out as a DVD box set. I woould totally buy it. Well... if I could find it, and afford it. the only Who DVDs I seem to be able to find after doing an extensive search of TWO cities are: Time and the Rani & the Time Meddler. sorry Six, sorry One, but I'm not spending money on those particular stories. Well... maybe if they were 10-15 dollars... but 50??? nope. Anyway, back to Jo. I love how in Terror of the Autons the Doctor mistakes her for the tealady, and his first words upon learning she'll be his assistant "Oh NO!" and then her ruining his experient by putting it out when it caught fire ("You ham-fisted bunvender!") what does that even mean anyways? I think Jo wins for having one of the most endearing introduction sequences.

...;You ham-fisted bunvender!... Well, ham-fisted means someone with large, clumsy movements - and "bun vendor" refers to his thinking she's the lady who sells the buns and biscuits for tea. And then he tries to get the Brig to do the dirty-work of telling her she's not acceptable... Go Brig when he won't and the Doctor caves in to her big, brown eyes (not for the last time!) ;D

Jo has a way of getting people to let her do things just by talking and insisting. Normaly insisting doesn't do much but Jo has this way of saying it that changes people's minds. =D

I'm a bit frightened over what precisely a vendor-fisted person might look like. Would they have wee little men growing out of their wrists?

Yes. Are you saying that would look strange, or something? I don't see it, myself.

Well, I suppose it depends on the wee little men, doesn't it? I mean, if they are strange looking then I think it may look a bit strange. What function do these vendor-fists serve?

I just watched Curse of Peledon and the entire way through my thoughts were the following: Three/Jo Squee! Wow, I really want do have a dress like Jo's. Three is epicly awesome!
Then there was the end when I laughed at the fact that Jo almost became queen of a whole planet! XD

I love Curse of Peladon, Jo was a marvelous impromptu princess - and yes, a chance at being a queen! Kind of makes poor old Mike's missed date on the town pale by comparison, doesn't it? Can't blame the King for going sweet on her though, nope.

Good for Jo, instantly adjusting to the situation when finding out she has to be a princess, and putting her servant the Doctor in his place!

Poor Mike. I'm not so sure Jo would want to go anywhere with him right after that. First the Doctor is convincing her to go, then he's convincing her to leave. =)

It's a bit weird, being asked to make a life decision in a brief instant like that.

I would never say that Three is mundane. Far from it. Mundane makes me think of Five, not Three. (I love Five, nothing against him.) Three made me think more 'superhero' or 'James Bond.' I wouldn't call a guy who builds his own Whomobile, goes on daring car chases, drives every vehicle imaginable at insane speeds, and looks like a (very hot) Victorian dandy mundane. How can I guy wearing a cape be mundane?
I mean, just looking at him makes me think 'awesome.' Hearing his voice doubles that. I don't think he could be easily lost in a crowd.
((Whoa, over-protective side hit in there. Sorry. = ) ))
