Another Doctor In Town is a roleplay that me, Prim, and other girl (Gondorgirl) have been doing on a website that will soon be closing their roleplay section. We have been working very had at making it into a sort of "fanfic" roleplay rather than roleplay for the sake of roleplay. Anywho we were wondering on opinions if we could move it over here. It's almost done but we can lengthen it and hand over some characters because me and Prim are juggling way to many. There are also plenty of open characters. Clocket likes the idea but she wanted me to ask on the opinions of the other members. www.narniafans.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23090

It started out a touch rocky (as such things often do - we had a rather strange Ten & Rose at first who shortly and thankfully abandoned us... and our Five/Nyssa/Nine/Martha player is a Doctor Who newbie, but she's been watching episodes now and we've converted her nicely)
It has gone much better than expected as it got underway. Would be pleasant to be able to bring it to a more proper conclusion as we had very little notice on it being closed and it has a ways to go. (they're a Narnia themed board and are understandably pulling back to Narnia-only rpgs).
It features a mysterious meteorite (we intend that it came from Omega's black hole) that is affecting time. This is a useful way to bring in all 10 Doctors with a mixed bag of companions, set in Three's time due to his own travel restrictions plus the awesomeness of UNIT. We hoped for more than one Master as well, but at this point only have Delgado going (though he's caused a bit of trouble on his own).
It is more a 'round robin fic' than direct roleplay - and as Starflower noted, both of us are juggling way too many characters and would be pleased to share if any of the writers here seemed so inclined.
Thank you for your consideration. :-)

Like I said, I'm fine with the idea (just so long as it doesn't turn into one of those scary rps where people are hounded "you have to post or I can't post, you have to post NOW!") I'll probably even join in (though my commitment level to such things is somewhat humdrum, and I've got a bit of a bad drop-out record). But yes, it should be great fun. And, unless anyone has any objections, I approve. If anyone is very concerned I can password lock the thing so that it (presumably) doesn't show up on the 50 most recent page.

Seein that on another board I am on, password lock boards (not topics) do not show up on 50 post.

maybe I should password lock the forward in time board and put the password in the summary?
then we wouldn't have to type in white anymore...
or maybe that would just be too much bother?

I'd quite possibly be interested, I've been looking for a good Doctor Who rp.

I tend to find password locked boards a bother and annoying nuisance. You have to type it in every time you want to even glance to see if there's a new post. You can't see if when you're not logged in. Things like that. I would rather just have it on the most posted boards and ignore it then have to deal with a password locked board.

The white text isn't too much bother. White text it shall remain!

Thank you, everyone - I've invited our one other rp member to register here, so hopefully she'll be along. She took on Five and Nyssa then realized she knew little about them so she watched the Five Doctors... and ta-da! Another whovian was brought into being. :-D
There's quite a lot that's already gone by - Unless you'd rather have it all right here, I think I'll brush up the saved backstory and host it at my own archiving site with the spelling fixes, etc. then provide a link to it that way. I thought it might be too long to work well as a thread here, don't want to overwhelm anyone.

Can I be Seven? If I can't be Seven, can I be the Brig? ;D I've been running Lethbridge-Stewart - therefor I hereby graciously and happily hand him over to someone who knows him so very well. Assuming he's okay with being handed over by anyone to anything.

Seven is granted. I have way to many on my hands and Seven is pretty hard for me.

Doctor number 9 is up for taking, I haven't been able to work him in very well so far.
If absolutely no one wants Doctor number 9 someone can have Martha so I have less people.
and I think Starflower is already giving Barbara to someone.

Er, just a question regarding the RPG - what's the procedure for grabbing one of the unassigned characters on the list, apart from the two doctors/one master rule? Can you just take one, or do we have to agree it first?

If the character is open, go ahead and snag them! Just post something here so the cast list can be updated.
