The thing about horns of Nimmon is that EVERYONE is dodgy in that episode, and it is GLORIOUS! actually... I might fulfil my long-held ambition tonight and watch that episode while, erm, not quite sober.
I except that doing so will improve the story exponentially.
and yes, Sylv has definitely taught us all that bad acting can be oddly compelling when done right. IF WE FIGHT LIKE ANIMALS!

On the other hand, I was watching Creature from the Pit for the first time in a long time, and I'd forgotten how sublime Tom and Lalla are in it, and Geoffrey Bayldon from Catweazel and many a Hammer horror. I'm not saying it's as good as City of Death, but it may be in the turnstiles of th same ballpark. And the creature itself is amusingly Freudian in appearance.
Whoever said Nimon was like a pantomime is spot on, but I suspect the fool meant that as a pejorative comment. It's just fun, fun stuff; I mean, it obviously doesn't stand up if you take it too seriously, but why take it seriously?
