yes... because I'm just sort of dabbling in this skill I have no idea where to proceed from here. Thoughts? Lend me your witty quotes!

Nine looks like such a great father-figure. Great job with the banner. You want smart-aleky quotes, or poetic quotes?

Nine looks like such a great father-figure. He really is You flatter Either or, I'm open. Though, I think it looks like more of a serious banner than an aleky one. (trust me to lay on with the angst in eveything I produce... it's odd, because I'm such a *happy* person generally... lol)

Poetic: "We're falling through space, you and me."
Smart aleky: "I don't know what you do to Hitler, but you frighten the hell out of me." "I came first in jiggery pokery, what about you?" "Life's Fantastic."

I always thought it was "After what you did to Hitler, you frighten the hell out of me"
I think I might nick the falling through space line, because that's the line that made me fall in love with DW.
Much as I love Three and ruffles and capes and Bessie and UNIT, there's no denying your first Doctor.

Was it? *head!desk* Sorry. I found another good one. "Yes I can. Here I am, swannin' off. See ya!" *edit* I agree. Your banner's too poetic to really pull off something witty. The "falling through space" line just seems to fit the bill.

Swanning off... oh
HEAD!DESK
way back in the day, I transcribed that episode for reasons now lost to space and time. (and this somehow helped Doctor Who get translated into Turkish, but I never did understand that...)
anyway... the way the volume on my cassette went, I had to listen to that swaning off line a good twenty times to figure out what Nine was saying.
This was all before I knew Classic Who existed, before Tennant, way back before I knew what regeneration was, and I was already deeply, deeply in love with the show based on Ecclestone's awesomeness.
and that was my random sleep-deprived story of the day

I think it's beautiful. I love how the two images are split.

Hmmm.... I think I like the banner without the text but I like the text on the icon. =) luckily I both posted and saved the non-text verison ... mostly because text is rather annoying to do in the program I've got and doesn't always turn out. You've got to add any shadows or underlines by hand which is... BLAH anyways, feel free to grab either verison

*blinks* perhaps because my term just started ( yes have you lot missed me? please say you have as I have missed the lot of you most profoundly )and thus I have spent the week dealing with financial aid and the day dealing with the registrar this thread I have had to reread thrice as it made very little sense to me since my poor head was clobbed up with bureaucracy and worse I've only just recognised the small blond child in the left hand corner of Clocket's new siggie as the boy from Doctor Dances (probably my favourite ninth doc epi one of the ones that makes me HATE River BTW) but now I am not only wondering if we are having a banner avi contest I am ALSO wondering if this post made any kind of sense. *goes for coffee*

*hugs Merry*
I hear you. There is nothing more annoying and stressful than the registrar's office and financial aid. I was lucky enough to get a bursary this semmestre, which is good, because I think you joined late enough to miss out on my little freak out when I didn't have enough for tuition earlier in the year.
Anyways, lots of luck, free money and good grades to you!

lol, Thanks Clocket, I've "kinda" got the financial aid worked out a bit. I've got most of my books. The ones I haven't got I am borrowing from my absolute favourite Prof, who is also the co-head of my department (but it's fair because I am lending her husband four of my Harry Potter books). Upon rereading that post I see just how stressed I was, lol, wow. Soon, all will be well, at least I hope so. I like the siggie, it's...imposing? no, sobering? no. I dunno, something.
