"The Real Reason the Doctor Left Gallifrey" A.K.A. "I Like Traffic Lights: The Motion Picture" is a fanvid my friend Mark made in his family's basement sometime around the start of the 1990s. The cast consisted of himself in his Hartnell costume, I think, and his friend Amy (sort of a Goth girl who showed up at DW cons with her great remote-controlled K-9 and usually some weed, and slept in a room where the walls and ceiling were completely covered with punk-ish photos and Rocky Horror articles etc. and where the only furniture was her bunk bed with the lower bunk being where her big snake in a glass tank lived).
I forget the plot, except, oh yeah, there wasn't one, and it all consisted of the Doctor or somebody trying on every hat in this house. For some reason this basement was overflowing with hats. I must say though that the sudden incoherent appearance of K-9 in this production really classed things up quite a bit.
There was a bit of location shooting on the sidewalk in front of the house where Mark rode on a tricycle and fell over a la Arte Johnson on Rowan and Martin's Laugh In, which was a very big TV show for awhile.
This item is only available on four or five videotapes. I have one. What, you thought it would be on YouTube?! Maybe this is revenge for all the YouTube videos people link to that my computer can't handle!
I like TRRTDLG: aka ILTL: TMP. Utter pointlessness soothes and refreshes my soul.

Magnus! You're back!!! TACKLE!HUG
Truly, this video sounds like an absolute Classic. Trying on all the hats? Genius! Obviously it was a political statement by the Doctor as he tried on different hats to demonstrate the silliness of stuffy Time Lord tradition (and to shed light on the over-looked oddness of their own dress-sense).
The subtleness of this is over-awing.
Also, I can now see that the Doctor's tumultuous bike ride in Shada was obviously an homage to the ill-fate bicycle ride in this earlier adventure.
Now, the question of the hour Magnus, you have this rare copy of one of the Doctor's earlier adventures. Do you perchance have a copy of the Unexpect Adventures of Unexpected Neekid Benton?

Do you perchance have a copy of the Unexpect Adventures of Unexpected Neekid Benton? Clocket, after the unfortunate unfortunateness with JNT and the tin of sardines, there are only three copies of this tape known still to exist; The first is in the Secret section of the Vatican library, on the same shelf as the Necronomicon and the Gospel of Judas... The second is in the vaults beneath Area 51, in between a crate of flying saucer spares and the Lost Ark of the Covenant... The third is held by a private collector in his hacienda deep in the Brazilian jungle, guarded by highly-trained attack alligators and a platoon of ex-Foreign Legion South African mercenaries... Naked Benton is truly so awesome that THEY don't want you to see it.
