That tribute was very touching, and my but he has a good voice. I burst out laughing at the end though when he asked "is Benton the Doctor?" ;D

I liked the silliness stenciled on the drum set. ;-)

I'll agree with others - it is very touching indeed the obviously high esteem in which he still holds Jon Pertwee; it's obvious that he must have made a big impression and would seem to have been a pretty impressive man to get to know.

I was standing in a small converstion circle that included Jon Pertwee once. I wish I could say I felt as if I'd met him, but I can't really. It only lasted a few seconds.

That really is a nice tribute. I posted here recently about how inane those lyrics are but he adds a certain profundity to them. On the subject of Benton, has anyone else come across the sublime weirdness that is Wartime? I found it ages back but it seems to have been taken down now, of course, unless there's a source I don't know about. Mostly all I remember of the plot is people in gas masks (insert "are you my mummy?" joke here) and a kid Benton playing with his dead brother. Basically, it was very strange, but not in any way good. I can't say I'd recommend it, but it's kind of like a car crash in its fascinating horrificness.

I've heard of Wartime, but never seen it; my source also said that it was none too good, but sort of strange. A Benton cameo in NuWho would be quite nice, actually; you could have Eleven blundering into his second hand car lot or something...
I can reveal now, exclusively and for the first time, that I have a sort-of Pertwee meeting story myself Magnus; I say sort of, because I can't actually remember it, having been a mere babe at the time, but apparently myself and my parents and aunty once saw him when he was making a public appearance at the Garden Festival in Liverpool back in the early 80s; apparently he was in-character as Worzel Gummidge, and I lived in mortal fear of Worzel Gummidge (and the Incredible Hulk!) as a nipper (although weirdly I was fine with stuff like the Five Doctors), so I doubt I did anything other than scream and hide from him. Still...
