EEEEEEEEEE! It's on YouTube. I've been looking for it forever. I may just turn this into one of my comment-while-watching things like I did with Enlightenment. First off: The... archeology? people. Rather frighten me. First two people (I'm never bothered with names) were totally shippy. I may be imagining it, though. I've been in fandom too long. DDDDD= K-9! K-9 is broked! Haha. Four/Leela shippyness. (Note: I'm totally a shipper. Just a warning) Ahahaha! Doctor actually said he liked Leela's dress! (See my Enlightenment commentary for more on this subject.) xD Four's all, '=O Oh noes! Not Earth again.' Hehe. Dog finds dead guy. xDDDDDDD 'What sort of corpse? 'A dead one, what other sort is there? ... 'By the look of him he didn't die easy' 'It is never easy to die' Leela: 'Come on, then.' Doctor: 'No, no, no. The one who leads says, "come on". Come on.' xD 'You know, I don't think these cows know anything about the time scanner.' xD Brilliant, Four. 'You must have been sent by providence' 'No, I was sent by the council.' Good quotes already in the first ep. Gotta love Four. 'You've both escaped from somewhere, haven't you?' '=D Frequently.' o.o Creepy old woman. 'There's a guard. I shall kill him!' 'No! You'll upset the dog.' xD Dude. Freaky skull. Hehe. Proper companion sneaking off. Ooooh. Scary cliffhanger. Well, that's the end of ep 1. I'll continue tomorrow! =D (If I have time.)

Is it up again? I might join into the commentary tomorrow. I didn't really get past the first episode last time it was up... or maybe I did. All I remember is a freaky glowy skull, BAD archaeology (oh how it hurts), and Four lying on top of Leela (oh Four...)

Hey Kit, I liked your commentary so much I've done one of my own. Sorta. ep. 1 The archaeologists are using potassium argon dating instead of carbon 14 *hearts* They're even using it to date the right kind of material (ash instead of the skull itself). And now the skull is glowing. "I can call K-9 he if I want to, you call the TARDIS she." "No I don't." "Yes I do. I've heard you." Wow... Tom's sideburns are really special this episode. "Oh no! Not there." "Where?" "Earth." "A dead one" >_< I agree: great scene. Great dialogue. The archaeology dude with the mustache is TOTALLY violating the other dude's bubble though. STOP PATTING HIS SHOULDERS!! Mooo! "Good morning ladies" Archaeology dude: "I don't know. It's as if the energy has been removed." REAL SCIENTIFIC. Scary Grandma! Watch out for the towel! "Do not worry Doctor; I shall protect you." You're right Kit. That archaeologist Dude and Woman are being proper shippy. The archaeology woman looks sorta like SJS. Or maybe I'm just nuts. edit. Nope, not nuts, someone else makes the same observation in the youtube comments. **** Ep. 2 I love how the Doctor just wanders in and takes charge. Glowing leaches. Yummy. "What are you? Some sort of wandering Armageddon peddler?" "My dear, you're as sane as anyone here..." O.o Dude, Fendahlman, keep your hands to yourself. Seriously. OFF THE SHOULDERS. And now there is technobabble. The Doctor just sniffed a rib bone and put it in his pocket. "Would you like a jelly baby? No... I don't suppose you would. Alas, poor skull." puh-lease Doctor: DO NOT TOUCH THE GLOWLY SKULL THING!!! ******* Ep.3 (it's my day off. I'm bored.) Haha, Four get off of Leela - this is a children's show. My room mate (not the Who watching one) wanders in. "That woman needs to put clothes on" (too true) "and that man looks like an over-grown Harry Potter? (Four looks like Harry Potter???) Okay, Fendahlman, this is your last warning STOP GRABBING YOUR STAFF Crazy old woman's last name is Tyler >_< Fruit cake. WAIT, they're in Cardiff??? "My legs. I can't move my legs" It's the Rocky Horror!!! Oh dear, the monster is a bit naff. ******** Ep. 4 It's VOTD all over again!! That grandma is officially made out of win Oh dear, those monsters just get worse and worse. They... oh dear. That's just not right. Leela saves the day! Four just completely broke the 4th wall. Awww, Leela kiss Wait, I thought Leela was supposed to have good aim... being a hunter and all... Okay, that monster gets dirtier and dirtier each time they show it. Four likes Leela's old dress better. And so do I. *Giggles* oh K-9...

This just happens to be the very next story in my frenzy of 70s DW viewing, from the beginning. So I'd better go and watch it. Until I do...
Yuks resulted. Now that I'm not supposed to take the easy way out with "LOL", I'll have to resort to thinking of human words again.
What is "shipping"? I've been in fandom for 20-some years, by the way.
I like "He came armed... and silent."
Next to Robert Holmes, C Boucher is my favorite DW writer-- too bad he only wrote three.
She was a regular on U.F. O..
I love how he's done that for 45 years. He either takes charge, or is accused of murders, in which case he just waits till the end to take charge.
Nauseating monster, therefore creepy and effective. I'm in the minority on that.
Very harsh and blunt moment of violence (the gun shot)... they were still trying to ignore Mary Whitehouse at this point I guess. Exit Robert Holmes as script editor after this point, so no, she wasn't going away.
I liked the bit of cosmic backstory, with the business about the fifth planet (today, asteroid belt) and the Time Lords' involvement.
I prefer the earlier Leela costume too. I think this is where Tom loses the tie for the first time since he acquired one. I never liked Pertwee or Tom without the tie.

Episode 2!
Ehehe. Doctor had to tell his legs to run.
Dude. Glowy skull. WTF.
Haha. '...gentle' -Doctor kicks box-
Eeek! Creepy old lady!
xD Love how Four touched his hair when bloke said, 'Tall, curly hair'. Yes, Four. You do, in fact, have curly hair.
Creeeepy old woman!
I love how, in just about every single Doctor Who episode imaginable, people get knocked out after being hit on the shoulder.
Ooooh. 'The Chosen One' How very impressive. /sarcasm
'Hmm. -sniff- Twelfth century.' xD
Hehe. Four: 'Would you like a Jelly Baby?' Skull: ...
Blimey, not more glowing. x.x;
Life Lesson: Don't touch freakily glowing skulls.
End of ep 2, I'll come back with eps 3 and 4 tomorrow. ^^

Shipping is short for "relationshipping" and it is a scary thing that happens within fanfiction (or just fandom in general). Basically it's deciding that certain pairs of companions, or companions and Doctors, or Torchwood members, or whatever... are soul mates and are meant to be in a relationship. Acting shippy refers to anything that could possibly be construed as flirting. The three scariest shipping fics I've ever come across were: Davros/Six, K-9/Mickey, and Froshbinger/Doctor. But I don't think those were serious. Shipping isn't bad in itself, but some people are VERY defense of their ships, and other people are very defense about what ships just shouldn't happen. For example, I'm not particularly keen on Doctor/Rose (which a lot of people have coined Drose), but that's just me and I don't presume to force my opinions on other people. And I'll still read Drose if it's well written. Some people are ANGRY shippers and like posting ANGRY rants about why their ship pwns all. And that's just not cool. In case you're curious, I actively ship Four/Romana, Four/SJS, Two/Jamie, and Jack/Peri. ... though the last two are kind of joke ships. ... hope that helps

Ah! In other words, "slash". I first became aware of this when coming across organized fan fiction for the first time in 1985. When I figured out what "K/S" was supposed to mean, I just could not believe it.... (Kirk/Spock)

Except in this fandom slash refers exclusively to male/male ships. There's also femslash... but I don't think I need to explain that. Shipping is just general pairing off of the characters. Apparently Anime has a strange system for classifying these types of stories based on different kinds of citrus fruit... O.o
Anyway.
Back to Fendahl. I got to play with skulls in seminar today, and one of them looked just like the Fendahl skull. It didn't glow though... which was probably a good thing, because the class was creepy enough already. There was a monkey in a jar! And a baby skeleton! And a skull from Peru that had been head bound to be a cone head. Creepy!
Anyway, I offered the Fendahlish skull a metaphysical jelly baby. It just seemed appropriated, even if it did earn me an odd look from the T.A.

Episode 3!
Ahaha. Ahaha. Ahaha. The shippiness. It's overwhelming.
xD 'Come on, old woman, wake up!'
Haha. 'I love fruitcake.'
Hah. Creepy old lady kisses grandson then just about slaps him in the face.
...Random people in robes that just appeared out of nowhere.
Oooh. Four is snappy!
Totally not religious at all. /sarcasm
Ahaha. The slug-thing...
Whoa. Four shot something.
...Not!Evil Archeologist-Dude's shirt keeps getting unbuttoned further...
Episode 4? I actually can't remember when I started it.
...It's a slug.
Knocked out by being hit on the shoulder again!
o.o Four just broke the fourth wall. ...Haha.
And I can't finish tonight. Need to go to sleep early for the Gallifrey One Convention tomorrow!! =D

And, finishing it up.
Haha. Leela kissed that bloke good luck.
xDDDDD Four: -holds up four fingers- Remember, three minutes!
...Brilliant explosion. Absolutely destroyed the place. That stone really burns well. /sarcasm
xD Of course the Doctor only comments on what Leela is wearing.
Aww, poor K-9! Feebly nodding his head. D=
