This day, 23 November, in 1963 was the day Doctor Who first aired. Forty-four years this programme has lasted. It's gone through ten actors as the lead character, and countless companions, it's been 'cancelled', turned into an Americanised TV movie, and recently returned to our screens with the New Series in 2005. It's led to three spin-offs, and hundreds of novels and audio plays. Thanks to this programme, no one who has seen it can look at a police box or multi-coloured scarf the same way again. Happy Birthday, Doctor Who. And may you have many, many more.

Happy birthday!!!
Though seeing the pictures all laid out... it's a bit creepy how he keeps getting younger isn't it?

Happy birthday!!! Though seeing the pictures all laid out... it's a bit creepy how he keeps getting younger isn't it? Haha, it is. xD But, seeing as Peter Davison was the youngest to play the Doctor, he sort of skips around a bit.

Actually, there is quite a lot of skipping around in age (appearance-wise).
Ages of the actors to play the Doctor when they first appeared in the role: William Hartnell - 55 Patrick Troughton - 46 Jon Pertwee - 50 Tom Baker - 40 Peter Davison - 29 Colin Baker - 40 Sylvester McCoy - 44 Paul McGann - 37 Christopher Eccleston - 41 David Tennant - 35
40's seems to be a popular age for the Doctor.

That darn American holiday interfering with our Doctor Who celebrations. I celebrated by watching Doctor Who all day long...

I was at my Grandmother's house for Thanksgiving with bad internet connection, a television that lacks BBC America (and was only playing Battlestar Galactica on Sci-Fi) and suffering severe withdrawl from my Dr. Who DVDs. But if it is any consolation I spent Dr. Who's birthday wishing that one of them would come and get me out of that god awful place.
