Thank you for the welcome. I have a couple of questions: Do you do fan fic round here as well. When discussing Series 3 of the new series do I need to put spoiler spaces? Oh some more about me.... I'm 21 and Graphic Artist from the UK. I am a big Doctor Who fan but also love costume dramas. I write lots of fan fic, as well as attempting to write an original story in my spare time. My fave Doctor is the 8th Doctor but the 10th comes a close second. I also like comedies like The Mighty Boosh, The Goodies, The Goons, Monty Python, The Navy Lark, Spaced, Black Books & The IT Crowd. I like bands like The Beatles, Evenessence, My Chemical Romance, Euros Childs, The Bees, The Zutons, Muse, Jet, The Bonzo Dog Band, Queens of the stone age, Maximo Park and Rise Against. I first got into Doctor Who after watching the 'Doctor Who Night' on BBC2 ages ago when they showed the Doctor Who Movie where the 8th Doctor was introduced. I then dug out a couple of old episodes in the library and read the EDA's, then the PDA's. And have only started listening to the audios in the past 2 years. I like both the classic an new series but in different ways. Top 20 fave PDA's/EDA's 1. Fear Itself 2. Emotional Chemistry 3. Trading Futures 4. Halflife 5. Asylum 6. Demontage 7. Parallel 59 8. The Infinity Doctors 9. Hope 10. The Burning 11. Father Time 12. Eater of Wasps 13. Synthespians 14. Fear of the Dark 15. Relative Dementias 16. Placebo Effect 17. Revolution Man 18. Time Zero 19. The Infinity Race 20. Imperial Moon Fave Dickens story: Our Mutual Friend Fave Shakespere play: Much Ado about nothing Oh, and when I'm not here you'll find me on timelord p070.ezboard.com/btimelord or Skaro Commmand [see link in profile]

Hi ladydetemps, welcome to the forum (third UK person to now join!).
I've been on here for some time and this is really a great place to be. I have found everyone here to be extremely nice and friendly and we discuss everything that is Who and also a lot of things that aren't!
As you will see from my past postings and profile etc I am a massive fan of the Sixth Doctor/Colin Baker but I also love the McGann Big Finish audios (I've got most of the stories apart from the last few and the new BBC7 series) and thought the movie was great.
If you like the PDA's then it is worth tracking down a copy of Human Nature by Paul Cornell (the original novel that the current TV story is based on)... in my mind one of the very best PDA's (published by Virgin and not the BBC).
If you want any more info then please don't hesitate to contact me.
Welcome again. I hope you have a very happy time here.
Cheers.
PS. Love your profile piccie of "lego" Doctor's (I think!). Where did you get this from?

We have a fanfic section where people can post their fanfics or links to fanfics they like.
The board 'Forward in Time' is for Series 3 discussion and speculation. You don't need spoiler warnings as there's already a warning in the board's summary.
About me: I'm an Anglophile living in the States, I love anything and everything connected to the UK. I'm a huuuuuuuge fan of the Age of Sail (mostly the Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Wars). I'm volunteering at the San Diego Maritime Museum. A lot of the members are friends of mine that I introduced Doctor Who to and are also volunteering at the Museum, so we might say things that don't make sense (happens a lot of the time...). I was first introduced to Doctor Who on the Sci Fi channel one day and happened to catch Ten (yup, I'm a newbie). My first episode was Girl in the Fireplace and when I first saw it my reaction was pretty much: 'Yay! Period film! Oh, wait... what the hell's a space ship doing there? And who're these non-period people?!' After that I researched on the web and got addicted. I'm now a fan of Classic and New. My favourite Doctor is also Eight, followed by Four 'cos the Scarf is Awesome. That's about it. Can't think of much else to say.

HORNBLOWER. Good books. Not as good as O'Brian, but that's a whole other kettle of fish.
Bonjour mon nouvelle amie.

I loved the TVM despite its failings...well with a Doctor like that. *sigh* I think the 6th Doctor is cool...I love his coat. I do patchwork and I'd love to make a coat like that. I read it ages ago on the bbc website but now the link won't work. Doh! I made it myself. Created the 3d models in a software programe then put it together. You'll find I have a wide range of avatars. I always thought they looked more Trumpton-ish. Wow! I'm so envyous. I write a bit of HHFF. Ah, now you see I've read some of the O'Brian books. Dr Maturin is cool. I even wrote crossover fic...I've added it to the fic area here. Just so you know I have a pinstripe suite, a velvet frock coat, silver pocket watch and all stars....but i'm not a obsessive fan or anything....that is just my normal wardrobe.

Go finish O'Brian. They're good books. The best I've ever read. After you finish the Aubrey/Maturin canon, you need to get The Golden Ocean and The Unkown Shore. They are earlier works, and quite possibly better than the Aubrey/Maturin series.

I didn't get half the jokes in the novels till I found the handbook/guidebook thing that explains the stuff mentioned in the book.
