Shoot that poison arrow through my hea-a-a-a-rt... Well, it's that time of the week again, and if the trailer is anything to go by somewhat lighter fare than we've had so far in Series 8 from the pen of the inestimable Mr Mark Gatiss. Looks like someone's getting medieval on the Doctor's @#&$ this time around. And this is your official DbyA thread for discussion of said story. As ever, please keep all chat about the new episode in here and out of the rest of the forum. And please take whatever steps seem best to you to hide any SPOILERS contained in your posts. I thank you!

It was delightful.
Mark Gatiss, we know you're a Classic Who fan, okay? You don't need to stick a classic reference in there every five seconds. yes you do yes you do yes you do
I really, really enjoyed this episode. The only part I somewhat disliked was the spoon/sword fight in the beginning. Capaldi can pull off scathing sarcastic funny better than ridiculous funny. (I'd like to see him in a real sword fight!) Other than that - fantastic. The episode had this great not-taking-itself-too-seriously vibe that I haven't felt from a Doctor Who ep in a long time. And it used its 'filler' status as a means to fill out the characters more, which is what 'filler' episodes should do, rather than bore the audience. Clara continues to do well in interrogation scenarios and Twelve continues to develop his scathing, biting, grumpy but-we-all-know-you-have-a-soft-spot-under-there character. I especially enjoyed the scene in the dungeon ("I think you'll find I have a certain genetic advantage."). Also the part where Twelve was kissed by the girl killed me. If that is not a cry for touch/affection I don't know what is.
But the part that literally had me tearing up was when Twelve busted out the venusian aikido. The venusian aikido. And they didn't even try. They didn't even try to disguise it. Twelve literally bashed Robin on the shoulder with outstretched palms and shouted "HAI!" Hello, feels, nice seeing you again.
Also, I may be wrong, but I think the BBC cloned Anthony Ainley to play the Sheriff.

I enjoyed this one. It was fun. I especially liked how Robin Hood was just as important as the Doctor.
