I thought it would be fun to make a list of things we want to see in series 8 and then compare our predictions when the time comes. 1. "Why do you sound like you're from Scotland?" "Lots of planets have a Scotland!" 2. More cohesive arcs. Less rushed stories. 3. Benedict Cumberbatch as the Master. 4. Hopefully an arc about the rediscovery of Gallifrey. *crosses fingers* 5. Less running, more talking/thinking out of tight situations. 6. Give Clara something to do that isn't some huge plotpoint! 7. Dashing, kinda scary Doctor. What do you guys think?

I think 5. and 7. are sort of my minimum requirements. Maybe not "dashing", but definitely "scary". In some of the pictures I've seen Capaldi seems to be somewhat One-like in demeanour, and that wouldn't be a bad approach imho.
4. Is a sincere wish of mine - it seemed to be what we were getting following the anniversary special, but then they seemed to be backpedalling from that come Christmas. I hope they go back to it though in the next series.
3. I can definitely see him giving good Master, but in a similar Sherlock-related vein, I reckon Lars Mikkelsen who played the baddie Charles Augustus Magnussen in the recent season finale, would make an ace Master, or at least that a Master written and played as that character was would be an interesting departure - not a charming baddie or a charismatic one, or a funny one - just pure feral sadism and dominance-games, treating everybody and everything around him as his personal property. I tend to think that's what Jacobi!Master was like, just from the couple of minutes or so we got to see of him.

To be honest, my wishlist has more to with what I don't want.

This makes me hopeful? I'm getting a Six/Seven-wearing-Three's-clothes vibe here.

But, but... does ''not flirting'' means that there can never be any Twelve/Romana (or does it apply only to humans)? I do like that quote overall, though!

I like that quote too, not least because it demonstrates that Moffat really has been paying attention and recognises the mistakes of the RTD (and his own??) era(s). I took it to mean only applying to humans - Time Lord/Time Lord action is about as "Time Lordy" as it's possible to be, after all...
