Since the only thread in this board seems to center around the sparkliness of Zoe, I figured two needed some love. I've just finished watching two (or as much of it as I can, since BBC threw some episodes out), and I have to say I really love Patrick Troughton as the Doctor. The end of War Games was sad anyway (I won't spoil it since not everyone may have seen it, but I'll say it was sad), and then to have him gone made it even sadder. Here's to a great actor and a great performance!

Two is great. From the clips I've seen and the book I'm reading. He may just be my favourite Doctor.

Two is made of win. i'm sad that the BBC burninated most of his episodes. Also, Jamie is great.

That substance known as Win is great indeed.

Oh I am fast coming to love Two more and more with each story of his I manage to watch. I was first introduced to him through THE FIVE DOCTORS and I'll be honest I wasn't sure what to make of him in that one.
Since then I've watched TOMB OF THE CYBERMEN, THE ICE WARRIORS (now there's a villain they need to bring back in the new series) and THE INVASION. I think it was in THE ICE WARRIORS I really started to like Two and by THE INVASION I knew for certain I did.
Besides the fact Two is such a great Doctor I also love Jamie and he's easily become of my all time favorite companions.
Let's see - I've also seen two other multiple Doctors stories THE THREE DOCTORS and THE TWO DOCTORS. I love how Two and Three can't seem to get along with each other without bickering as they're quite amusing to watch when they're going at each other. I noted Two and Six didn't get along all that great either but I'd say Two and Three get along worse.

After many failed attempts, I made an animated Two Chibi. Okay, so it isn't *that* great, but you should have seen the first draft. That was downright scary that was...

Looks like Jamie in Two's coat and pants. His winking too! =O Add wrinkles to the face and maybe he will be more Two looking.

Great. Now I have an odd urge to make one of Two in a kilt... O.o
this fandom is doing things to me.

Two chibis are always hard because you can't do wrinkles.

That's great - it looks like an Auton for some reason disguised as Two. ;D

I dearly adore Two - what a wonderful actor, with such an incredibly mobile face and such expression in his voice as well. I just recently got the dvd for The Invasion where they animated the missing bits and it was fabulous, totally recommend it. Hooray for Two indeed!

I was reading this today: news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8013179.stmNothing too interesting, just something about Robin Hood; but scroll down to the picture of Troughton with his bow and arrow, and those kids watching him. Fantastic. ;D And of course now his grandson's in the (IMO not very good at all) BBC series...

That's a great find JJPOR. Makes me think of the end of Blink for some reason (and why is there NO fanfic explaining that scene? Seriously! Ten was in Robin Hood get-up! The fic should be writing itself!) The article was also very good, if a tad and a touch depressing. I didn't know that there was a new Robin Hood movie in the works; must seek that out when it's finished. Watching various versions of the Robin Hood myth is something of a hobby of mine...

Look how little the kids are - they're so cute! Two and Three are forever flip-flopping as my fave, I expect if more of Two's eps had survived not a one of the others could've held a candle to him.

I really want to see Troughton in other work besides Doctor Who. He really interests me and I think I would be someone who would enjoy his work.

I just saw The Omen for the first time, the original of course. It was great, far better than I expected, and Troughton as the obsessed, guilt-ridden priest trying to warn Gregory Peck about the end of the world is the best thing in the film.
I first knew him from the British television mini-series The Six Wives of Henry the Eighth.

Yes, Troughton's great in The Omen, isn't he? He's in a quite a few of those 60s-70s eras films of that type, and Jason and the Argonauts as well, which was probably a bit earlier. I love that film, and by extension any Ray Harryhausen-esque stopmotion monster antics...
Clocket, my favourite film version of Robin Hood is "Robin and Marian", with Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn, and Robert "Quint from Jaws" Shaw as the Sheriff (and Ronnie Barker of all people as Friar Tuck!); great stuff, and references quite a lot of real medieval history, surprisingly (Ian Holm's scene as King John cracks me up, because it's so true!).
You know, I think the first thing I'm consciously aware of having seen Troughton in was probably The Five Doctors; I remember him and the Brig quite vividly, and not really knowing who they were but thinking they were great - and his furry coat too...

I love that furry coat, wonder who has it now? It must have been murder to wear under hot studio lights, but in those outdoor shots I expect he loved it.
And yes! His appearance in The Goodies is not to be missed - he's having such a grand time being a way-over-the-top maniacal bad guy. XD
