Head 'em up and move 'em out, partners - this is your thread for discussing the latest episode of NuWho. As always, keep those spoilers hidden (but of course, you all will)!

Various people online have spotted a new agenda this season: ] The Lightbulb agenda! We've had flickering lights in Asylum of the Daleks and this one, and a faulty bulb (or fitting) in Dinosaurs on a Spaceship.[ I wonder what it could all mean?

I think you might be right about this Johne... I liked this episode, even if the accents were a bit dodgy and it didn't always feel entirely like Who, it was engaging and had good characters who played well against the established cast. There were some very interesting (and tense) moral dilemmas, good action, and some well placed humour with the Undertaker, strong tea, and the horse.
So, 9 out of 10 even if Rory didn't sing and Doctor Who has finally lived down The Gunfighters.
In other news, Rory shows up in his pants next episode. And weirdly, this episode isn't appearing in my Guide. WTH Space, where has the next episode gone? When is it airing? What is the title? I WANT RORY IN HIS PANTS DAMNIT!
Though it also strikes me that this is probably the last time him and Amy will be showing up onscreen, so I hope its a good one.
Also... something I've been wondering about since the Dinosaurs episode, but Rory's dad didn't know that Amy and Rory were travelling with the Doctor and seemed very shocked by the TARDIS. Except the TARDIS kind of showed up in the middle of Amy and Rory's wedding and you'd think people would make a few inferences... so, a bit curious about what memory mojo's been at work there.
Also curious to find out about what happens when Pond Life and Doctor Life collide.
Also, Rory in pants (yes, I'm obsessive, but whatever). I'm also hoping for him to sing and have a sword fight with the Doctor before making his exit from the series... a girl can still dream can't she?

I generally enjoyed it quite a bit. There were a lot of little lines and things in the first half or so of things in this ep that were just too much in my opinion. I have to admit guiltily that I would have loved to hear Matt Smith do more than just that one line of his American western accent. He does a very nice Western and Southern American accent. There's actually an audio he reads set during the American Civil War I want to get soon that sounds awesome from the sample.
Perhaps not all I could have hoped for though, and I was prepared to accept total crack... On the whole though, I thought it was pretty good.
There was a lot of unspoken, I hate myself and I see myself in you so I'm going to throw you to the wolves to a very scary extent. I was sort of following the scared group of humans from a 'Midnight' point of view and very disturbingly, the Doctor was suddenly one of the people throwing the alien out, (albeit for even darker reasons than because he was scared.)
Flickering light bulbs seems to be Eleen's major/only clue that something is wrong... It is getting a bit old.
Am I the only one who was so busy staring at the Doctor's shiny Marshal badge and groaning that I noticed that there's a continuity error with it? When he first pins it on it's on his lapel? In the nest shot of him turning back to to townsfolk it's on his breast and then in the next close shot it's back up on his lapel. I think it might be moved again in another tight shot, but it it's too close up to tell really, I'll have to do a re watch.

I did wonder whether the Doctor lost his temper with such a bang and pulled a gun on Jex because he knows it's what he should have done to Davros -- another manufacturer of war-ending cyborgs, who didn't even have the excuse of repentance -- and didn't. (The spoiler tag didn't crash my browser that time. Hmm.)

Did anyone else get flashbacks to The Happiness Patrol sniper speech when Eleven was pulling the gun off that teenager? Gave me chills it did...

Um, I was rather getting flashbacks to dozens of speeches, talking down people with guns, and not all of them were the Doctor... Then again, I don't recall that particular scene in THP but I have seen it, so I'm sure it's in the mix somewhere. ;P
