(Because I've been referring to the last season as 7 in my head, and the one before that as fnarg...)
Anyway, SPOILERS, but the rumour mill has it that next series will contain a WESTERN and possibly YETIS.
These things are awesome. They were also a bit inevitable. I mean, obviously they had to find another excuse to get Eleven into a Stetson and with the whole "bring back a Classic monster every series" well... now that the Daleks-Cybermen-Master-Autons-Silurians-Marca are gone. It had to be the Yeti didn't it?
Or the Ice Warriors. Still holding out for them.

Gone? How ''gone''? I find it very hard to believe that they'd get rid of the Daleks and the Cybermen forever. And what's more, I don't want them to.

*I'd assume Clocket means that as those monsters have already been used in NuWho, the opportunity to introduce them as a new foe for the Doctor is gone. I certainly agree it would be a poor thing calling itself Doctor Who if it didn't have those two iconic enemies in it at least once or twice. I do wonder about redesigning the Daleks in Victory of the Daleks only to not use them as the main enemy in anything again (well, unless you count the one in the museum in The Big Bang) for a season or two. Surely the new multicoloured designs weren't that badly received?
Clocket - those both sound like pretty exciting rumours. I'm a big Western fan as I may have let slip a time or two - although I'd prefer any Eleven!Western to be in the style of The Gunfighters rather than Clint Eastwood. ;D Although they could call it something like A Fistful of Daleks if they liked (with Pt 2 obviously being For A Few Daleks More...)
And Yeti(s)...! Solid choice. Although I probably would prefer Ice Warriors because purely on the basis of a couple of novel appearances I've probably-misguidedly started thinking of them as ace. I don't think they were ever that good in their TV appearances, tbh (although they might have been (silently) brilliant in the burninated bits of their first story for all I know).*

As JJ says, I meant gone as in "they've been used already and so they need a new big bad to spur the ratings + make new action figures of". I really hope the Daleks never slide off our screens for good (and I highly doubt they will since I'm being increasingly sure that there is a use 'em once a season or lose 'em clause somewhere in that contract. It's the only explanation I can think of for the really random Dalek cameos we've been having...)
If they can make another musical Western I will die of squee. Never mind that it would be ridiculous and probably the worst episode since The Gunslingers - it would get a cult following anyway. And if Rory could be in it singing... yep. That would just make my life (the fact that Matt and Karen can't carry a tune worth a damn would, of course, serve to make it even funnier)
Granted... while I'm very much hoping that the Ponds aren't gone for keepsies. I do want to see Eleven with a new companion who isn't Amy or a member of her immediate family.
You've got a spoiler in your link their JJ. Granted, it's an inevitable spoiler that everyone's been expecting for the past two years, but still, you might want to tinyurl that or something

*I think there has been speculation along those lines regarding use of the Daleks before, Clocket - certainly I imagine the Terry Nation estate have them tied up with all sorts of contractual stuff. They are legendary for their pettifoggery.
I like your thinking there - songs and stuff. As you say, it'd probably be awful, but it'd pass into legend one way or another. ;D I can imagine Matt Smith pulling off that sort of Rex Harrison "singing"/speaking thing in a pinch.
And yeah - I hope whatever happens to the Ponds isn't...terminal, but I do think if they're serious about making a fresh start, clean break etc I'd want a completely new companions, no recurring role for the old ones (they could pop up in the 50th maybe). You know, oldschool Who transition - onwards and upwards.*

Personally, I adore the dynamic of Eleven with the Ponds and will be very sad to see it go, but after two seasons, it is probably time.
I'd love to see Eleven actually attend the Brig's funeral, although it would be weird now that Sarah Jane's dead too... they might have to do something to acknowledge that. They haven't acknowledged her death in the SJA cannon have they?
Also, at this point in the conversation, we're on so many, "In response to what you said before-" 's, that I'm seriously loosing track of what anyone is on about anymore. XD

It's time, I think. You know, keep swimming or you'll sink. Or something.
Regarding Sarah and Luke and Clyde and Rani and the gang - until someone tells me differently, they're all off having adventures in some timeless annexe of the Whoniverse where it's always 2010. Yeah.
