I was looking at this catagory thinking it looked a bit bare so here's a poll to start everything off. So how do you like your dose of Doctor Who?

Oooh, I'm the first to vote!
I've gone for the audios as I am enjoying the Big Finish audios with the classic Docs a lot more than this years series!
I know I should vote for the TV series first but the audio's plots and acting are far more in line with my fave Dr Who than the new series.
Anone else?

Aww, I can't choose... I haven't read enough books or heard enough audios to make a decision.

I've gone for audios over books (yes surpriseTV doesn't come top of my list) lol! I liked the books but they could be a bit hit and miss. I like the audios because DW seems to suit them and I can listed to them while I work.

I will talk the truth... I can only watch Doctor Who on the telly and that's about it... audios are more for sitting down and relaxing for me.

I love the old series to pieces, the new series is a bit dicey but generally OK, but the audios are almost always top-notch acting and plots. They also work my brain (because the plot are so complex and I've got a problem absorbing audio information) but they also let me do other things while listening. AND they inspire the imagination far more than TV ever could.
I didn't vote for the books 'cause I haven't read any and from what I've heard they're just glorified fan fic anyway and not always good fan fic at that.
As for comics...
There are comics??

I didn't mean to vote for "books". I saw "media" (instead of "medium") and thought that meant I could vote for more than one, so I checked TV and Books.
If some fans are calling the books glorified fanfic, well, as I understand it there is some good fanfic out there, and besides, most of what I've heard about the NAs and MAs (I haven't heard as much about the BBC books) has been very, very good. There are bad reviews for some of the novels, but they are what kept DW alive in those years after the cancellation. We wouldn't have had a TV revival without them. I've heard some fans say that they became bored with the series (this was before RTD DW for what it's worth) after a few years of the Virgin books.
I'm making my way through them very slowly because I have to find people willing to read them onto tape (the local org. that helps the blind here helps, but the volunteers obviously consider it a chore to get through this very strange material, and it's hard to understand a reader who's rushing through it). I'm up to the one that has Draconians and a cemetary planet, and I think it introduces Bernice Summerfield. I'm not blind by the way, but it's a serious but different sort of eye problem.
The books are intermittently interesting. The really good ones are supposed to come later, though. I have almost all the NAs, in print form.
I'd place the original series first, then books, then CDs, then RTD DW, from my limited experience of these.

I should probably stop passing judgements based on hearsay. It's a very unattractive habit. And I do respect the books for keeping the show alive during the bad years. However, the few books I've read (I've read a few since that last post, mostly on the BBC website) didn't impress me over much (maybe I just got bad titles), and I think my room mates would give me a bit of flack if DW books started showing up in our library. I already have to deal with TARDIS jokes and one of them likes to throw bits of tinfoil at me... it's all in good fun though. And, frankly, it's something you expect when diving into fandom. Also, I'm a bit wary of spending money on books (10-12 bucks a title is quite a bit for a university student) when there's so much good, free fanfic on the Teaspoon. Quite a bit of it is novel length and quality too.

I picked audio. I love how you can tell story through dialog and sounds effects. It leaves room for your own imagination. You are free and you are never on a budget limit. That and comics, I love comics and again, no budget. You can use different styles for different stories. Lots of colours for happy stories, dark twist art for dark stories. Sadly though, i haven't seen any comic art that really wowed me. However, I have never really read a comic, just seen bits here and there.
AUDIO FOR THE WIN! COMIC FOR SECOUND PLACE!
