Yay you posted it! Is Sketchup a Mac thing that I can get somewhere?

Wow, that's really cool. Keep us updated as you finish it. It's rather cute too (is it bigger on the inside?).
Welcome to DbyA, by the way!

Welcome to the DbyA!
That TARDIS model is so detailed and marvellous. I love the reflecting effect the letters have.

I made tiny TARDIS pies last saturday for the premiere (not really TARDIS shaped or anything I just called them that) we also had banana daiquiris and "sonic" screwdrivers (served with a tiny screwdriver in lieu of a swizzle stick) but aside from a tenth Doctor banana that's really the full extent of my crafty endeavors, I'm rubbish at being handy...
Which makes me super-impressed with other's crafty efforts, but personal bias aside, I really think this is impressive! Do keep us updated! And as a few others said, Welcome to the best little forums on the interwebz (meant to be timely and sardonic as well as a veiled reference at an old musical) have a look around and feel free to join any discussions!

My mind is pretty much boggled by the amount of work put into this and the amazingness of the result. I can't wait to see the final pics!

No questions, just quiet awe, really. That really is a very, very impressive effort.

I am so amazed by the quality of this model. This is some seriously awesome and dedicated work. My hat off to you, sir. I do have a small question - is that socket optimised for an LED bulb? The only reason I ask is because of the way LEDs store/give off their heat (behind the bulb), it might get toasty after fair usage anyway (the regular sockets tend not to sink well). :/ Also THANK YOU for introducing me to SketchUp! I've been through hell figuring ways to renew my AutoCAD student licence, and a lot of the other open source candidates didn't hold a candle to its functionality. I'm playing around with your TARDIS model now; it's brilliant! (to this end I am referring to both program and model ) Keep up the excellent work! Looking forward to the next update! And most of all: welcome to the forum! ;D

It doesn't seem like it'd cause much trouble; it was just one of those "hey, waitaminnat" thoughts. I can't wait to see the finished product! ;D
edited to say: at least if immolation did occur (which it won't, but bear with me), you could say that why yes, it was supposed to do that, this is the series four - series five transitional explodey TARDIS! (Or, the proud nerd's version of "er, I meant to do that ... " xD)

I think it looks amazing - sincerely. I couldn't even begin to think about making something like that. And as Eve says, the signs are excellent - they're very close indeed to the real thing, to my eye.

Those signs are fabulous. May I say "you're my hero"? Because you're my hero. That's all.

Do you think someone could post the link to the photos or the plans or whatever this thread is actually about?
