*So, is that a sonic toothbrush, then?
And the ubiquitous Mr James Corden (seriously, he is never off the telly here in the UK at the moment) - according to the tabloids today, he exchanged cross words with Patrick Stewart at some awards ceremony the other night. Which for some reason I find unaccountably amusing.*

* [white] That's what should have been in "Black Orchid". hehe They want Eleven as shirtless as possible this season, don't they?
How could anybody share cross words with Sir Patrick Stewart?! D:

* Yes, that's twice this series, possibly the greatest concentration of unclothed Doctor action ever. Now, I leave it up to you as to whether that is a good or a bad thing... ;D
*tries desperately to get images of 70s Pr0n Colin out of head*
I really don't know the details, but the idea of Capt Picard bickering with someone in front of a live audience just strikes me as funny, really.*

I just finished watching The Lodger. ** I really liked how wonderfully weird the Doctor was in this episode. I thought it was an interesting mixture of him being totally clueless about normal life on the one hand, and on the other being wise about people. It seemed to me that he spotted immediately that Craig and Sophie were in love.
I'm not sure how I feel about the method the Doctor used to share the truth with Craig. I think it's main purpose was to make it quicker than a verbal explanation would have been, and it was funny, but otherwise it just seemed weird that he's never done anything like that before. It does make me wonder if it's a clue to how River knows so much about him . . . maybe they bump heads sometime in the future. ;D And the crack is back . . . **

My first thought was that he must've been sharing a lot of profound thoughts with that soccer ball...
Obviously any coherent thoughts have been wiped from my head by the three minutes Towel!Doc *dies* I ran into my room mate's room squeeing my head off and she was just like "Ooo-kay, crazy lady"
;D
That was hawt.
This episode rocked.
The finale, however, now fills me with dread because that preview gave me Rusty It's The Most Epic Thing Evah!!! flashbacks like whooaa.

Below is me squeeing away!
***THANK YOU James Corden! You helped get me back into this season.
I loved how you played a different role than what you are good at.
I loved how you were a little companion for the day. *hugs James Corden*
Also, Gareth Roberts, thanks for writing a brilliant story. I love how my two fav stories were NOT written from Moffat. Goes to show Moffat isn't as 'epic' as people were making him out to be.
I loved how Amy had a very little role in this episode. Can we have more stories without Amy? I mean, I actually liked the Doctor in this Epsiode... even if he still makes me think of Ten at times.
I liked how clueless the Doctor was about culutrue.
I LOVED him talking to the cat, I like cats.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED him playign soccer, and being good at it.
I loved the head banging moment. Even though I don't get how the Doctor suddenly got so many super powers, talking to cats banging heads.
I am getting tired of the random flash backs of the other doctors/monsters/companions etc.
THERE WAS CLASSIC WHO, YOU ARE TRYING TO BRING THE CLASSIC WHO BACK, WE GET IT, NOW STOP WITH THE FLASHBACKS!
I also laugh at how everyone is so uneasy about the final. Before this season everyone talked about how Mofat was going change the series, how it was going to be better, yet here is Moff doing the same bloody thing as RTD.
I love the irony. I really do.
I still don't like how rushed each epsiode is. Moffat really packs a lot in one epsiode and it's too much. (Moffat himself said in an interview that he was going to make is very fast).
Will edit this later, got stuff to look up online. Man I had a full day of soccer. Three games, DW, and a doc about the two worst teams int he fifa ranking.

erm...harsh! LOVE THIS EPISODE!!!!!!!!!!!!I was grinning like a big dope by the end, I was saddened by the crack in the end as I really was hoping we could just two weeks in a row, but then with next week being part one of the finale I don't hold it against anyone. I agree with Newton, in that, as much as I like Amy (and I really do) I think it was nice to see him all alone. Especially because when Amy is about it's ALL ABOUT AMY, which really bugs me as I like the character just not the way she is handled. also I have a theory I am sure you all share that is forcing me to hustle over the angels thread!**

* I've only just watched it - this World Cup is really messing up my schedule! Here's hope, hope hoping England don't meet Germany in the next round, because from what I've seen so far the Germans would wipe the floor with us...
Anyway, speaking of football...the Doctor, eh? I think England need him right now!
I thought this was another strong one - agreed that it was nice to see Eleven by himself (not because I dislike Amy, because I don't); he really had a chance to shine, as if he hasn't had plenty of those already. Loved his weirdness and eccentricity, the cooking the football, the talking to cats, everything.
As I may have mentioned earlier in the thread, James Corden is never off the telly in the UK at the moment - I've also just watched another programme he's presenting, a daily roundup of the World Cup with comedy asides and celebrity guests. I mean, he's literally never off the telly, to an almost annoying extent. But this really showed why he came to prominence in the first place - when he's not being a general-purpose "celebrity" he's a pretty decent actor, comic or otherwise. I thought that he and the actress playing Sophie were great, and I sort of cheered for them when they kissed each other. Soppy old thing that I am...
But yeah, this was another good one. Liked it very much. "Doctor! Doctor! Doctor! Doctor!"
One thing, though; somebody, or something, was apparently "trying to build a TARDIS", and the Doctor didn't think that was anything worth looking deeper into? I mean, the whole setup of the spaceship looked very, well, Time Lordy to me... I don't think it will factor into the finale, but I might have expected the Doctor to be a bit more curious about that aspect of it.
And the ring! The ring! My preciousssss.... Er, sorry, wrong ring, but yeah we knew we'd be seeing that again, didn't we?
I wouldn't get too scared about the finale, really. I mean, not that I'm a shameless Moffat apologist or anything, but I don't think they'd really include that many different types of monsters and have them be anything other than cameo appearances. Well, I hope not anyway. And Chelonians? And Drahvins?? Heheh, love the w*nkery! ;D
But yeah, what's in the box, eh?? Or rather, ahem, Who's in the box?? Hmm? Wink, wink? ;D*

If it's any comfort (and/or disappointment), a BBC spokesbeing said he was ] wearing "an item to protect his modesty".[

Depends what the item was...

I saw that, and from the picture, thinking what "the item" would have to be... it actually kind of makes things worse rather than better.

As I recall from The Black Adder, a bishop's mitre may come in handy in these situations. I'm sure Fr. Octavian would be happy to oblige.

I got too lazy to highlight everything and catch up... but this just aired Saturday in the States, so it's the latest episode I've seen. I'm too lazy to white-out my post, so I'll just say that I enjoyed the episode very much.
