Okay, I'll get it rolling.
** I bet a lot of kids in the UK had nightmares Saturday night! I thought it was pretty scary for kids, between the dad and Amy getting pulled under ground, the bodies missing from graves, and then the talk of live dissection at the end. I laughed a bit at the "Jack and Rose" moment that the Doctor and Amy had when he was trying to keep her from going under. ("I won't let go!") Yes, Celine Dion was briefly singing in my head.
I thought the Silurian was beautifully done. I think the Doctor and Rory had some nice moments together too. I can't wait to see what happens next week! **

** Yeah, I'm really sad that next week is the last episode with Rory in the credits, I was totally digging the crowded TARDIS. I WAS pleased with the absence of cracks, though, like JJ, I am jumping at shadows and there was a moment when I thought we had another double Doc appearance ala TEH but it turned out to be the Sil. I DO really like the Indian (I'm sorry if that is the wrong PC term, I TRULY mean no offence) woman and even found myself hoping she'd stick around. In this episode Eleven REALLY reminded me of Five, peaceable but dangerous in a sneaky way and he normally reminds me of four or ten with a dash of two thrown in for good measure.
I found the ring bit at the beginning to be a bit pointed, I DO wonder what the heck that means, and when will the ACTUAL police show up as the mom called them (remember she thought Rory was the man she had called). The other EXTREMELY odd thing was future Rory and Amy just popping by. I mean how random was that and the way they then quickly brushed past it; it just struck me as altogether odd.**

boring epsiode. This season overall has been weak.
Did like the kid and the south Asian woman. She needs to be a companion.

See, I've actually been enjoying this season so far much more than I enjoyed most of the last few Ten stories. I guess it all comes down to personal preference in the end.
*I don't think this was a classic or anything, but it was fairly entertaining and atmospheric too; all that business in the graveyard no doubt scared the kiddies something awful. ;D I dunno about the Silurian redesign, but I liked the actress's performance a lot, and her confrontation with Eleven was very well played. And I liked the way Eleven went on to stick up for the Silurians when he was talking to the humans.
There were an awful lot of Tennish moments in this one, weren't there? Not just some of the lines Eleven had (but Matt Smith managed not to sound too Tennish saying them), but all of the other characters trying to lay guilt trips on the Doctor (understandably so, in the case of the mother whose kid he'd just allowed to wander off into danger!) and him having no comeback other than to look guilty (whereas I've noticed in other stories that Eleven tends to call them on comments like that, sometimes angrily, given that he's genuinely the only person on hand who can save them all). It's like Chris Chibnall, much like Toby Whithouse, hasn't received the "it's Moff tiem nao!" memo or something... ;D
My, but this story was very Three-era, wasn't it? So many subtle and not-so-subtle nods to various famous Three stories. Fitting, given that it was the Silurians, and kind of amusing. Presumably if these people think they're the first to dig so deep, then the Inferno Project was all hushed up! (Government pays mad scientist obscene money to destroy the Earth...yeah, you can see why they might not have publicised that one much... ;D)
But yeah... Future!Amy and Future!Rory...how weird, and it was glossed over so quickly too. I'm betting it's going to have some bearing on the whole overarching Cracks plot, and indeed that we're going to see that scene again at some point, from the POV of the future people.*
