*Does anyone else think that Eleven's shirt only has those horrible cuffs so that it'd be easier to spot the "other" Doctor in that one scene? Hmm?
When I said the duck pond in The Eleventh Hour had some Dark Significance, people said I was mad! MAD!! Well, who's laughing now, eh? EH??
MWAH-HA-HA-HA-HAAAHH!*

* Well, according to Moffat the business about River killing a man will be resolved by the end of this season. Now, whether or not that means they're going to bring her back again and again, I don't know. Well according to the Confidential interviews it would seem that River will be coming back (whether this series or next is yet to be seen). Also, if the Doctor wants to avoid romantic entanglement with Amy because he's 907 then he'd better avoid the same with River. I mean, when you're that old, there's barely a difference in their age, is there? Well, that might not be true, JJ, if River turns out to be a Time Lady. I'm still hoping she might turn out to be the Rani. btw, CP, why was the duck pond significant here? *is confused*

*Well Clocket, if that isn't a genuine mistake it is extremely freaky and suggestive of...something...
Abby, in the scene where Eleven leaves Amy in the forest, he comes back to speak to her and kisses her on the forehead...but he's wearing his jacket and has his shirtsleeves rolled up...whereas when we see him both before and after that, he's lost his jacket and his (horrible stripy) cuffs are clearly fastened. Hence the widespread fan speculation that there was "another" Doctor present from another point in the timeline, possibly skipping back through the crack from the season finale.
And on the face of it, the kiss to the forehead did seem a bit much, but if that really was a future Doctor, it suggests that whenever he's from there is some bad stuff going down, quite possibly involving Amy...
Hehe, I love all this speculation, because really there's no way of knowing right now how much of it is genuine weirdness relating to the story and how many are genuine errors...but do you really think that stuff like Rory's badge was just a mistake, whatever Moffat might say? I'm sure he'd say anything to keep the fans guessing and fuel all this buzz, just like RTD used to be economical with the truth at times...*

Even weirder (and making me want to rewatch the whole series even though I really REALLY don't have time for that at the moment) apparently you can hear the TARDIS landing at certain parts in the Beast Below and Victory of the Daleks. Furthermore, there's apparently a Doctor-shaped shadow on the wall of Amy's house in the Eleventh Hour AFTER THE DOCTOR HAS LEFT THE BUILDING
This is all very strange... and I'm loving it.

SNORT! Oh, this I think really is a continuity mistake... Not sold on Moff's "1990 is a mistake" comment, it's a pretty dumb mistake to make, but this could be just overlooking things....Oh, I dunno! I love the idea of two Doctors in the forest though....

Particularly from the look in young Amelia's face right before Amy woke up in The Eleventh Hour. In the back of my mind, I wondered if he actually did return but Amy (for some reason) didn't remember, and it could easily be a Doctor from the end of this season/series. * Abby, JJPOR here - I've just used (or abused?) my modly power to white your comment here, just in case. I may be overreacting but, you know, people... ;D

And the Moff has successfully answered my main problem with the Next Doctor, an episode I wanted to love but couldn't because, well, O.o Giant CyberKing stomping around Victorian London and no one remembers? I think that was foreshadowed a bit at the end of The Next Doctor. At least, I wanted to think so at the time.

On a tangent, I think that the Torchwood episode 'Small Worlds' is an episode-length version of that sketch. Jack and his sidekicks zoom from place to place in their flashy vehicle, burst in, guns at the ready, and then watch helplessly as the people they were trying to save get killed.

Yeah, like much of TW, it's very actiony, and the premise is even quite interesting (and quite well done in that instance), but...pointless...
Still, it has the Cottingley Fairies photos in it - they're a cool bit of Forteana I ought to write fic about (if I was still in the retro-TW fic business)...
