The Beeb has released some of its Who-related archive material and it is fascinating. Also, let me be the first to say, young Patrick Troughton was smoking HAWT: And then there is this picture of CE, Rusty, and Billy Piper which is somehow terrifying: Seriously? Is that not terrifying? Those blank stares? Also, wow but CE's leather is battered. They really fixed it up for the show proper! And I want to know how... I agree, PT was a bit hot. Also in that first photo he really looks like Robert Deniro! I didn't even recognize Tom Baker in those photos. I don't think the picture of CE, RTD and BP was disturbing. Billie looks a bit uncomfortable, but I thought the guys looked pretty normal. Also, his leather jacket was brand new. The costume designer distressed it a lot to make it look broken in. I think they talk about it in one of the commentaries. She battered it with rocks and did all kinds of bad things to it.

Really? I was just surprised at how, well, BROWN it looked... I now have a mental image of the costume designer chucking rocks at the jacket. Must've been fun.
Their blank looks still terrify me though.
As does the picture of wee!Tennant. I think I'm going to have nightmares about that...

Always nice to have someone to blame. ;-)
We had a grand time going through those pictures, though we did notice there wasn't a single Hartnell shot in there, not young, not even old. *pout* It feels incomplete.
Loved the shot with the Four Brothers McGann - boy can you see the family resemblance, they all have exactly the same nose. :-D I wonder if it's their dad's or their mom's nose?

Mark McGann and Paul McGann are frighteningly alike - they're not twins, are they? Did anyone look at the gallery of actors who _might_ have been cast as the Doctor had things worked out a little differently? All fine actors who would have done good work, but so different from the ones who actually got cast. Can anyone imagine Michael Hordern playing Two or Fulton Mackay as Four? Just goes to show how much the characterisations of the individual Doctors hinge on the actor who gets chosen - the producers may have ideas of what kind of Doctor they might like, but it seems that these plan rarely survives contact with the actors they end up with...

We did! It was kind of weird, contemplating it was like seeing something familiar and well loved through the Looking Glass, how they were and were not what they could or might have been.
