This isn't a fanfic post, but if someone wants to breed bunnies here that's fine. I'm just curious to know what historic events you think would make an awesome DW episode, what novels/movies/faerie tales would be perfect for DW adaption, what science fiction concept you really wish they'd take a look at -
I've heard about this kid in the US who apparently can't touch computers without frying them. He's got some sort of magnetic field or something. I don't know the truth of the story, but how awful would that be? Especially if you were in space? Meep!
As historic events go, I can't believe they haven't tackled the Tunguska event yet - if ever there was a historical natural disaster that was tailor-made for "aliens did it".
Finally, it's probably cheating, but I'd still love to see Zagreus adapted to television. I know Nicholas Courtney probably isn't up to it, but couldn't Lis Sladen take on that role just as easily?

How long a list would you like?
Also I am scared, because I am all over plot bunnies. (That fake TV meme on LJ was just virulent and I am writing paranormal quirky stuff set in a hotel, Napoleonic spies and Regency fairy tales, on top of all my current WIPs. I had to cut down somewhere & haven't been around here quite so much. Besides, you were having Doctor vs Doctor and I get all sorry for the losers and have to go off and sob somewhere.)
That said... :-D
DW has ripped off a fair bit of literature - the moment I first read Wilkie Collins's The Moonstone, I wanted to know why no one has done some form of that (with the jewel being an alien artefact and mysterious aliens after it, rather than Indians, of course).
Plus, so many times and places in history we haven't been to. So many! (Actually, I would really like BFA to have Clive Mantle back as Cromwell and do more English Civil War stuff).
We never actually went to Ancient Egypt for starters. I am all for things set in the 1920s (and while I love The Unicorn & the Wasp to bits, that's not quite counting in that respect!), the 18th C generally. Something with Disraeli in.
Anything! More historicals, more things based on fairy tales! Yes, these things = Good. (Usually.) ;D
Nice thread, Clocket!

Spring-heeled Jack, I'd love for them to do an episode searching for him, turns out he's some alien prankster stuck on earth or the like, after all most accounts have him scary as all get out but not actually harmful.
Or something with Lake Erie, I don't say that as I live near (like on top of) it but because it has the highest death rate per capita of any body of water in the world, per square foor it is deadlier than the Bermuda Triangle, and some pretty darn gruesome things have occurred. From the cannibalistic Eriez Indians mass disappearance to the American Revolution (two words: Misery Bay) to the War of 1812 Lake Erie is a hotbed of supernatural history.

I'd like to see some honest-to-goodness historicals, full stop. Or just one, anyway - it could be that season's "quirky" ep along the lines of Blink or Midnight or whatever - the one without any aliens in it! Something medieval, for preference; I've always had a hankering for the Doctor and companion to find themselves trapped in the siege of Constantinople during the Fourth Crusade, for some reason. Or I've just been reading about the English colony on Roanoke Island, which disappeared without trace some time between 1587 and 1590 - could be a bit of a Horror of Fang Rock "no guest character gets out alive" type of scenario... Or something to do with the old school space programme - Apollo 13 or something (but the real story! ).
