I don't know if anyone outside the UK will be able to watch this, but... www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/newyear/* Swordfights? Fangs? Daleks? Weeping Angels? Eleven punching people out? Bring it on!
And did that Dalek have the oldschool grey-and-black colour scheme instead of the NuWho brass armour? Why yes, I study Dalek colour schemes - that's perfectly normal, isn't it?*

Yes!
Thank you!
That was EXACTLY what I wanted at the end there. Why did the BBC not do that if they have one ready to go? Are they bonkers?
And what's more it looks brilliant.
(Of course, that is the purpose of trailers, but still. Sometimes they can't even manage that and then you know things are bad.)

bah, mega-upload is dying on me nononononono I want the last episode... I should be writing my essay anyways... it's only worth my future... Anyways, GERONIMO!!!!! This wasn't at the end of the episode? WHAT IS THE BEEB THINKING?? That was amazing. I can't wait for Matty-boy and his action!Doctor. Not so big on the snogging though. I predicted that. It *is* Moffat, after all, but, um, no... please. Also, it seemed a bit Hollywood and flashy, which is pretty much the anti-thesis of Who, but Who can be anything it darn well pleases AS LONG AS IT EXISTS

Indeed, johne! I thought the same thing... A Youtube link too, for whoever wants it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tPte4rQMpIMore thoughts: * The snogging, alas, is expected.
As for "Geronimo!", I find it annoying that the Doctor needs a catchphrase at all, but it doesn't annoy me as much as "Allons-y!"...
The guy doing the twirly-sword thing excites me, because it makes me think we might get another Doctor!swordfight, which are always cool.
The Doctor's toting a gun - again?!
And I love the surprised/shocked expression he does as he punches out the white-coated scientist guy...*

I am so ready for Eleven and fully prepared for all my earlier doubts about him to be wrong (also prepared for the possibility that I might be wrong about having been wrong but that's just because I'm a realist).

At .21 is that the new TARDIS interior?
Also, I don't think he'll be shooting at a person. Call it a premonition. He's probably shooting a Big Red Button.

Spoilers: Matt Smith looks and sounds quite Doctor-y, and I like the look of the monsters (vampires in Tudor costumes FTW), but, eh, snogging and River Song ''falling'' on the Doctor. Is Moffat going to go on and on about her like RTD did with Rose?

Yes, yes he is. ;D
That aside, though, I think I'm stoked, or pumped, or psyched, or whatever the cool kids might call it; I'm well up for S5 now, after seeing that *and after Eleven's all-too-brief appearance at the end of EoT. Doctor swordfights! After showing me that guy with the sword, you'd better damn well give me my Doctor swordfight now, Moffat! ;D*

Hmm... I'm not too sure about what I saw at the end of the end of time. It looked like Matt was trying a bit too hard to be like ten, with his fingery-fingery stuff and that tracing his thoughts out loud. Then again, maybe that's too harsh.
But yeah, I want that swordfight too.
And old-school daleks.
GERONIMO!!!
But technically this is the end of NuWho. What should we call this? NuNuWho or NuClassicWho or what?

Or was that a resigned sort of grimace? It was more a sort of ironic/weary acknowledgement that unfortunately in this day and age you're just not going to get Doctor Who that doesn't go into that stuff, so I grin and bear it... Like this: ;D * I really dunno about the Geronimo thing - I don't know why the Doctor needs a catchphrase or sort of assigned quirks when these things should develop naturally in the course of the new actor's performance. I suppose there have been attempts in the past, like Seven's proverb-mangling, but they've been mostly recognised as a bad thing and dropped fairly early on.
Mind you, these things come in handy when you're writing fanfic... ;D
As for is it NuNuWho or what, I take the attitude that it's all just Doctor Who, (1963 - ); I really strongly believe that, and I think that RTD and Moffat, whatever criticisms might be levelled at them, believe that too. It's why I care so damn much about stuff like EoT. *

Nunuwho? Sort of a play on New New New New New New (whatever) York. Cute, but if they keep doing that it may become far to redundant. Doctor Who works perfectly fine by me.
As for the trailor, I've only seen it once so far. Once I get my on wireless router I'll have to check it out again. I'm hoping for something spectacular. And the Geronimo thing... *sigh* It could be worse, but not by much.

I think S5 looks very promising, but then I am a big fan of Moffat and have much faith in him.
Geronimo will get old pretty quickly. At least with Ten we didn't get Allons-y until the end of his first series, and it really only cropped up a lot in series 4 and the specials.
I predict that River will only appear in 1 or 2 episodes. And I like River, so that isn't me being a hater.

As for River, I don't know; will it be possible to cover the whole relationship in two episodes, if it was anything like how she described it in SitL/FotD? Maybe Alex Kingston signed a contract to return for two episodes every season?

Well, bear in mind we have seen eleven for what eight minutes on screen? And he says "Geronimo" not once but TWICE in those eight minutes, I think that is a fairly large indicator it is catchphrase, especially when you bear in mind Moffat is big on DW for kids, how many of us didn't yell "Geronimo" as children as we did something our mother's found to be incredibly stupid and dangerous that we thought was jolly good fun?
AS for this being the end of nuWho, how is it the end? Am I missing something? At any rate I'm with JJ and the Guardian here, it's just Doctor Who.

Personally, I'm thrilled. I was kind of feeling bogged down with angst and should I? shouldn't I? stuff with Ten, and wanted a refresh. Lets get back to running around in time and space with just grinning going on, yay!
Anyway, when does he say Geronimo twice? I seem to only ever notice it once, no matter how many times I watch it...
