I just picked up a virus from the Tragical History Tour site.
Which is weird, because I've found those pages to be very good in the past. Anyway, I was browsing through the Classic stuff with no problem, but as soon as I went to the pages for the latest episodes my computer started acting very strangely and I kept getting odd pop-ups. A moment later my anti-virus closed the browser and told me that I had three viruses (which I promptly go rid of!)
the exact pages this all happened on were the Turn Left, Stolen Earth, and Journey's End page
Just a heads up. I don't know if someone's hacked that part of the site or what, but be wary!
UP DATE:
it appears that I already had a irus which can apparently hijack your browser. I don't know if this was the cause or if it was something else I picked up from the site. So maybe the Tour is fine. but be wary anyway.

Oops. Sorry that happened.
If a major virus gets to me, I've had it. I can only afford the free introductory anti-virus things, not updates. Spybot helps some. I still have a higher phone bill each month from all the calls being made from my computer without my knowledge, spam I guess. Don't know just what it means, but most of my current spam says it comes from my own e-mail address, though people can use fake addresses. The spam filter won't catch it.
This is vague rambling, but I know little about computers.

I use the free AGV anti-virus. I'm not sure how good it is, but it does give up dates and is probably better than nothing. Tomorrow I'm going to hand over my laptop to a computer whiz I know who apparently knows how to get viruses off of computers.
*crosses fingers*

Right, I emailled the site moderators and just heard back. Apparently it *was* the site; their server had been infected and others had been affected. Oh dear! But they're taking steps to contain the problem and only the Tennant pages were involved (as I suspected). I hope they can fix it because I do like that website and don't want to have to be afraid when visiting it.

I hope so. I go there all the time. I'm amazed I didn't get infected. I go everywhere on that site.

Like a friend of mine always used to say, "When venturing into the unknown corners of the internet, it is crucial that your computer wears a condom."I don't know if that was appropriate or not, but it fits the thread.

That is one of the best quotes I've ever heard. Your friend is a very wise person. Luckily I got my computer whiz friend (who looks uncannily like David Duchovny) to fix my computer today.
