This should have been a minor note posted on the medical update thread, except that I wanted to do this thread title.
I just took my first aspirin/caffeine (Anacin) in two weeks. I think I'm still not supposed to do this, but the confusing phone call from the GI doctor said the colonoscopy was fine, don't worry, no restrictions from now on, yet she also said follow the directions as to what not to eat or take on the written test report (I view things like that with an enlarger/projector, by the way). It said no aspirin or caffeine. The vicodin's running out, and I just got some pain from the vicodin I think (not that unusual), so I put two Anacins into me.
I'm not dead yet. Then again, I don't think some stomach irritation or even a little slight bleeding will kill you. I'm joking mostly. I just feel a little bit of tension. It feels strange to go against a doctor's warning. I also know how much of a battering my GI tract must take from aspirin, even if the test results aren't that bad. I suspect I've damaged my food absorption.
Raise a glass with me, clink, and toast my not being dead yet!

Yes, here's to not being dead yet - about the best anyone can wish for... Edit: God, that sounded a bit pessimistic of me, didn't it?

*raises frosty cold mug as well as it has been that kind of week* here's to you feeling better Magnus! JJ, it is the best anyone can hope for, at least on the most basic level, so it doesn't pessimistic, just basic.
((gods, I do so hope that for that Christmas the great pumpkin will teach me to type))

Thanks, primsong, jjpor, merry, and clink back!
jj--- A great line from one of my favorite films, "The Lion in Winter" is: "There's everything in life but hope." I'm not sure what was meant, but I read it as meaning that there is an enormous amount one can get out of life, it can be an adventure, but disasters happen and the last one kills you. I find those perspectives useful as a partial shield against the coming darkness.

It has been too long since I last saw the Lion in Winter, but I think I agree totally with the sentiment.
