It's always a good thing when you're a whovian descended from a whovian, and I picked up a really cool tidbit from my mother's days of youth. In her prime, she was a brilliant falconer. (If you are unfamiliar with falconry, it's a centuries-old sport in which you trap a bird of prey, gain it's trust, and train it to hunt wild game. It's very interesting.) But anyway, when my mom still practiced falconry, she had several birds over the course of her career. We were talking one day about her various birds and apparently, she had a red-tailed hawk named Teegan, after the Doctor Who companion. It made my day to hear this. I mean, it's a beautiful bird, and it goes well with the name.
