...you make all your craft projects revolve around Dr. Who.
...you set out to recreate the scarf that Tom Baker wore as Four.
...your birthday cakes ALL have to be tardis themed. Even the cupcakes become Daleks....
...you plan your weekends around DWLive and when you'll watch DW with friends.
...you budget your money to afford that latest DW novel.
...instead of building a boat in the basement, you have a half finished Tardis.
...you plan your trips to the lumber yard or home improvement store to take advantage of discounts on BLUE paint, hardware hinges, and an electric flashing yellow light.
...you start asking salemen if things come in "Tardis Blue"...and they anticipate the question when they see you coming!
... you name all your pets, siblings and children after companions. ("Now Rory, eat all your lima beans or you wont get a doggy treat for desert!")
... you start making lists of things to share on the DbyA website.
... you fight with family members to get a computer in time for DW Live!
...you start checking DbyA as often as you check your personal e-mail.
...you feel personally attacked when someone votes (-2) against your favorite Doctor!
...you refuse to talk with people who finally killed off your doctor in Doctor vs. Doctor.
...you start referring to your friends and family as your "companions".
...you whirl around at the sound of any grinding or whirring noise, expecting to see the Tardis materializing someplace close.
...you keeping making jokes about "leaving the brakes on" to other people and feeling you have to explain the Dr. Who reference to non-fans.
...you keep explaining the central plot points of Dr. Who to your friends, but never seem to finish summarizing...
...you make obscure references to "Capt.Jack", "Torchwood", the Doctor, the "sexy beast", and bodies of water in your everyday conversations.
...you watch for weeping stone angels everytime you travel past a graveyard.
...you Nine find that you're Eight counting down Seven in the midst of conversations Six with other people Five for no apparant reason Four and people just think Three that you're being rude Two instead of getting the One joke. ...you find ways to work the expressions "A Good Man Goes to War" and "Let's Kill Hittler" into everyday conversations.
...you keep trying to convert others into following the Doctor.

....you don't find it odd that other family members devote their free time to making Dr. Who art or objects. ...you resent William Shatner for telling fans "You've taken an amusing little TV science fiction diversion and turned it into a collosal waste of time" during an obscure a comedy sketch years ago. ...you begin asking who various characters are when they only appear for brief episodes in the series. ...you know the difference between "Trillian" and "Turlough" and begin to correct others about which series they're in. ...you begin to get in-jokes and subtle humor without asking others, "What's the deal with that" all the time. ...you start searching ebay and other resale websites for Dr. Who items. ...you find yourself skipping over the comic books at comic book conventions to find the vendors who have any Dr. Who merchandise. ...you start planning your vacation to visit sites where Dr. Who scenes were shot years ago. ...you know who Sarah Jane is, though you've never watched one of her adventures. ...you're sad when an older actor passes away, and can't help thinking about the character they played once. ...you create fan art of owls, wheebles, smurfs or other series of 11 objects with the distinct personality traits or charactures of the Doctors. ...you begin to RECOGNISE which doctor the fan art is referencing from the charactures of each of the doctors! ...you start debating with friends whether the Doctor would actually DO that or not. ...you start rationalizing the early history of the show and trying to eliminate apparant continuity errors or changes in personality of the doctor, as if it matters. ....you need more room in your computer bookmarks or favorites list for more Dr. Who websites. ...you jump from website to website to see if others have heard of or confirmed the latest Dr.Who episode rumor. ...you start PASSING the latest Dr. Who rumor. ...you start referring to your car as "the Tardis". ...you start asking people "when can I drop you off at?" ....you spend your weekend making lists of Doctor Who references and observations. Trillian is from Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy. The woman who played her in the old TV series was married to Peter Davison for a while, I found out recently.

I don't think so, but I don't know. I'm not all that familiar with Hitchikers. I really only know what I do about the whole thing, because I was watching an old interview on youtube of Davison and Dickinson ( *tee hee* that is for some reason funny...) talking about why he was stepping down as the doctor and the interviewer kept trying really hard to get them to agree with him that it was really interesting that they'd both been in sci fi.

Yes, Sandra Dickinson...and yes, small world? Actually, isn't that Peter Davison his own self inside the pig "thing" in Hitchhikers?? Yep, he was the 'dish of the day'! (aka the pig thing) There's a picture somewhere or other of him in costume without the pig-head on, so you can actually recognize him And adding to all the sci-fi/Doctor Who connections, their daughter acted as the Doctor's daughter in.. er, The Doctor's Daughter. And now I think she's married/engaged or something to David Tennant, if I remember correctly. *end random trivia segment* I like all the 'you know you're obsessed when" things, too. Not absolutely all of them apply to me, but they've definitely given me some ideas! I have a pretty authentic-looking Doctor Who scarf, though, which I love -- though it's a bit too huge to wear out very much, sadly.

Yeah, I don't think they've actually gotten married yet, but they have a daughter named Olivia I believe. As Kirk hints at, I made my own fourth doctor scarf this summer and have created a thread about it titled "Scaaaaaaaaarrrrf!" ^^ It's wool, so I can't wait til it get's cooler so I can actually wear it!

Ways you know you're obsessed with Doctor Who:
1. You smile whenever you see bananas. 2. You giggle whenever you see celery, especially if you catch a whiff of it. 3. You refer to royal blue as "Tardis Blue" 4. You are knitting your own Tom Baker scarf. 5. You're glad you can finally put those recorder lessons from when you were a kid to good use. 6. "Vvoorrrp!" is your favorite onomatopoeia. 7. You refer to your friends and or pets as your "companions" in your head. 8. You can pronounce Raxicoricophalipatorious on sight, without so much as blinking. 9. You know that it's twin planet is Clomb. 10. Whenever you see someone wearing a gas-mask your immediate reaction is to ask "Are you my mummy?" 11. You think that Bow-ties are cool. 12. You bought converse, and you know why.

Don't you mean that you reference to them as Beautiful Escort Girls in your head? ;D

Ah, yes! I wrote this a couple of weeks ago, before dad started this thread writing his own, so I forgot to add that in...
