I think I'm in love with season four. Not a miss yet (and I really hope that doesn't jinx it) but this episodee was CLASSIC. Damn good story-telling with a bit of philosophy and current events mixed in. And did anyone catch the 1st Doctor reference, and the bit about the bees going missing?
Anyway... wow. I cried, well, went mushy-eyed, but... wow.
The only thing, at the end... "Your song is going to end soon"
[possible future spoillers and speculation]
So I guess that's confirmation that the Doctor's going to regenerate sometime this season. Pity, I was FINALLY getting to like DT. After all th crap writing, he finally starts getting good stories and then... But who knows, maybe the Ood have it wrong, or are talking about something else entirely.
[end possible future spoilers]
Next week's two-parter looks great. Martha! UNIT! Sontarans! (I'm sad because it's going to be awhile before I get to see it)

I totally agree. Yet you should put up spoiler warnings.

Okay, that giant brain, and the guy that fell into it with bad special effects...that felt so much like classic Who. I loved it.
And I really liked the way this dealt with the enslavement of the Ood. There were a bunch of good quotes from the Doctor that I didn't manage to get written down in the second half of the episode, so I guess I'll be watching this one again.
As for the trailer...Martha! UNIT! Sontarans! I'm excited. Especially for UNIT. And Martha.

As for my reaction, good episode. Donna is still awesome. Yay for humans being the bad guys. And OMG, UNIT + MARTHA!!1
(I saw it last night half-asleep, and so I can't really remember anything too specifically to make a good reaction post.)

This weeks ep bothered me. WAY TO MANY REFERENCE to the holocaust.
I thought "Your song is going to end soon" ment something about The Dcotors home planet/being the last timelord/time war.

I thought it meant that he was going to regenerate soon.
Could that be the arc? Were there mentions of songs/singing or something earlier?

This weeks ep bothered me. WAY TO MANY REFERENCE to the holocaust. ---
I didn't catch that while watching the episode. Maybe I'm dense this week. Though, now that I think about it, I can see the parallels you're drawing, and they are disturbing.
Though, I got the feeling that the sub-text was going more towards sweatshop workers and the invisible slavery in our own society. "Who do you think made your clothes." In that case the holocaust references might be there as a message that bad people and terrible events aren't restricted to the past, but can happen anywhere, any time.
But perhaps I'm reading too much into it.
It hit an emotional chord on me though. Especially that one woman who kept being a coward, especially when you really thought she was going to do the right thing, because I got the feeling that she wasn't a bad person really. That and she reminded me of someone I know, which is always creepy...

Actually it's been confirmed by both the Doctor Who BBC Website and David himself that he's at least staying through the four specials in 2009. He might continue on, but as far as I know there has been no verifying word. So he definintely won't be regenerating in series 4. [possible future spoillers and speculation] So I guess that's confirmation that the Doctor's going to regenerate sometime this season. Pity, I was FINALLY getting to like DT. After all th crap writing, he finally starts getting good stories and then... But who knows, maybe the Ood have it wrong, or are talking about something else entirely. [end possible future spoilers]
