New here, I just stumbled upon it looking for all things Who. I'm retired, a widow and a lover of writing. Yes, I do write fanfic, currently working on my first Who fic. Previously I only dabbled with Lord of the Rings, won a few Middle Earth Fanfiction Awards. So I'm doing a crossover. It's been great fun. So, see you all around! Allons-y!

Welcome Pipkin! I'm Clocket, your friendly neighbourhood mod and fan of Doctors new and old. You've stumbled your way into the greatest little Who-forum on the web. Well... my opinion may be slightly biased...
We're very eclectic with fans of NuWho, Classic Who, Big Finish and the spin-offs. I know at least a few of us are or have been pretty heavily into LOTR fandom so you should find some good discussion on that front as well.
Feel free to explore and start new threads (or regenerate old ones). We don't have any real rules on posting besides asking that spoilers stay under white text. If you come back in about an hour or so you'll find a magical link to our weekly watch-along which you are more than welcome to join in on.
I hope to see more of you around the boards and can't wait to read you crossover fic!

Welcome Pipkin! I'm a big LOTR fan too, but I've never read (or written) any fanfic for it. I'd love to get links to yours, and look forward to seeing some DW fic from you too.

Welcome to both pipkin and eve! You'll find we're quite a friendly and open-minded group, and our collective interests are various and sundry, so it's rather easy to "click" here. (I should know; this lot turned me from a lurker to a veritable chatterbox. I refuse to take responsibility for that. ;D)
Anyway, there're refreshments in the back and lots of interesting threads in the front, so kick off your shoes and enjoy yourselves!

Another LotR-fan here and also, clearly a whovian. I echo many of the statements above me when I say "Welcome" and that you've found quite a varied group of fans here, I do believe nearly every faction of Whovians are here-in represented. In spite of our eclectic tastes we all respect one another and so rather than squabbling we are prone to rollicking debates and good-natured ribbing! Enjoy poking about, can't wait to see you about the forums

Yes, welcome aboard, Pipkin! The others have already summed up a lot of the things I think are great about the forum, so I will just say I hope you enjoy yourself here - we like to make newcomers feel welcome. And I too am something of a Tolkien fan as well as Doctor Who, so always nice to meet another!

Welcome! I've never actually been able to stomach reading Tolkien's actual books, they just don't agree with me, but I've certainly enjoyed the movies and other off shoots, including of course, the fanfiction! ^^

Welcome to DbyA! Hope you enjoy yourself. Afraid that I'm not a LotR fan myself, but only because I've never tried them. Actually, I'm thinking I might have to, or at least read The Hobbit, because the cast for the movie is looking so terrific. And, yes, as Clocket said, do come to our weekly watch-alongs. There are details about those in the Announcements forum. Haven't put up the schedule for this week yet but I plan to do that soon. Always fun to have new people there.
