Health-wise I was crazy to do this. The unusual thing here is, I think, getting a pencil drawing and Paintbox shapes in the same image... though people who actually know about this stuff might know easier ways to do it. I had to improvise in strange ways... Yes I went overboard with the stellar phenomena, but I was seeing what I could do. 3.bp.blogspot.com/_uM9F596UvHU/TTC3tNXURnI/AAAAAAAAAZA/lG6meWD49Qs/s1600/Leela+torso,+stars,+top+half.bmp

I like that Magnus - it's bold and colourful in a graphic art sort of way. And I think that the stellar phenomenon are quite in keeping with Leela's expression/reaction which I see as being a bit startled at what she's seeing outside.

1. That is beautiful
2. It manages to blend the hand sketched and the MS Paint styles in a way which is very retro and fitting to the subject matter - not many people make art like that any more, and it's a shame, even if different software can give smoother, more realistic digital end product, the MS Paint style has a charm all its own which can't be stomped on.
3. The technical prowess needed to A. Draw Leela by hand and B. Colour her using PAINT leave me slightly gob-struck.
;D ;D ;D

The stellar phenomena actually fits very well with the format; it looks rather fantastical and I believe that's the idea? At any rate, it's extremely impressive that you did this at all. I'm in love with the textures on her hair.

Only one thing allowed me to color Leela in with Paintbox, the fact that the original pencil drawing was so dark. I made it digital and colorizable by clicking "Save As" and then "Monochrome"- something. This eliminates so much of the pencil that with other drawings I got almost a white screen, but enough was left of Leela to color in big areas easily. That left countless little pockets of white to be filled in one by one, resulting in an obsessive Internet session with so much eye work that I can find no way yet to start recovering from it.
Thanks clocket, jjpor, leahmichelle! I'm probably using "Paint" or "Paintbox" as it was called on my first computer, in ways the makers never intended! I'm fooling around, seeing how I can distort this or that... I have no guide, I'm stumbling through it all...
