OK, so I watched four up through about halfway through the first part of the mask of the mandragora (or whatever it is, it's late and I don't feel like looking up the correct spelling, forgive me.) In a fit of snow-day fulled boredom, I skipped to Logopolis and just watched him snuff it, since I think five is kind of cute, and I was impatient to find out what he was like beyond his rather grumpy self as seen in Time Crash. So I'm watching the Visitation now, and I had some some of my friends over tonight. They're actually the one's who introduced me to who (say that eleven times fast, I dare you ) but they've never watched classic who, so I was showing them Robot, the first episode with four in it. About five minutes in I spotted the coat rack next to the door of the Doctor's lab at UNIT and went Wait a minute...Haven't I seen that coat rack before?... like while I was watching five a couple of hours before my friends came over? So everybody's finally gone home and I got back to The Visitation, and LO And BEHOLD: There's the coat rack, in the TARDIS console room! Did the Doctor steal UNIT's coat rack or what? lol I wouldn't have put it past four... I'm not sure, but I need to go check and see if it's the same one in the TARDIS in the new who, I think there's one...

Ahahahahaha, the coat rack! I'm almost certain that it's been knocking around the TARDIS since the first episode (and then stood around UNIT for a bit). And it's still in the TARDIS right by the door. ;D ;D ;D

Eleven also has a coat rack...and it is the same one in my fanon, in any case, it's a nod, i think, to the place Matt Smith took. Five is well-remembered for the coat rack and he was also the youngest Doctor to take the role, AFTER a WILDLY popular actor, hence, I think Eleven is kind of a new Five and the coat rack is a nod to that

I'm not sure if it was in 9 and 10's TARDIS, but either way, it's survived at least two remodels of the TARDIS, when little else seems to have. XD

I'm seeing the paralles to five with eleven, but in another sense. As it's just been pointed out, he's another of the yougest doctors but also, -He's got his own sport (soccer in the Lodger) -His awarness of his companions emotions and the way he reacts to them seems to be very similar. There were a couple of other thing's I was going to list, but I just came from a birthday party where I drank large amounts of mountain dew and rollerskated for two hours, and had cookies, and tootsie rolls... And I don't normally have caffine.... And I'm kind of playing pokemon and mentally cackaling "Burn them Typhlosion! Burn them all! Mwaha haha ha!) ... So yeah, my brain's kind of fried so pretty much I forget.

Wasn't the coat rack in the original TARDIS console room, with One? I'm pretty sure it was, along with the ornate chair and a few other odds and ends of old-fashioned furniture. It seemed to be the only piece of the original "living room" extras that kept on going.

I don't know if it's always been the same one - I'm sure it was brown at some points and white at others - but I can't recall it ever not being there, in oldschool Who at least, although somebody will probably point out when it wasn't... I like the idea of Three taking it out of the TARDIS when he was stuck at UNIT and using it to furnish his lab. ;D
Of course, the best ever use of the item in question was Turlough wielding it as a weapon in Frontios. Good old Turlough... ;D
