I just found this site (someone mentioned it on A Teaspoon and an Open Mind), so I thought I'd check it out. <waves> Any newbie advice?

Hello! Welcome! Another recruit via the Teaspoon, I see.
I don't know about advise - just be sure to white out any comments you might make regarding S5/Eleven because people can be sensitive about spoilers - you'll see the kind of thing I mean if you look at some of the Eleven-related threads.
We're a pretty eclectic bunch here - fans of old Who and new Who, and a pretty broad range of tastes and opinions regarding those. And they're a really nice and friendly bunch - we just talk nonsense and have fun and that's the main thing, isn't it? ;D
Oh yeah, and there's cake, but I don't know how much I should reveal about that - it might scare you off or something... ;D

Greetings from your sometimes-absent-mod. I hope you have a blast here! Advice? Well, JJ mostly covered it with whiting out spoilers, but I'd like to add: enjoy yourself, be zany, resurrect dead threads, ask questions, and remember that you can't be too nerdy or too obscure (and likewise, if you don't know anything about Doctor Who except Tennant we'll still love you... we'll try repeatedly to educate you... but you'll still be welcome ).

Howdy, raynbowz, and welcome - good mix of old and new, good folks here, glad to have you. So, which Doctor(s) will cause your inner fanperson to start going boing?

Greetings Raynbowz! Glad to see more and more people from the 'Spoon trickling over to the best little DW forum on the web! I'm Merry and bit crazy and well, kinda HIGHLY opinionated but ina friendly, "come on try and change my mind" way more than in an "I am always right way"
Round here we mostly watch on the UK schedule so if you are on the US schedule BEWARE and don't click any titles you haven't seen. If you do though, it won't be the end of the world we white out spoilers (if you don't Newton sells you into slavery, usually to the master but sometimes to the Mines on Kessel.
Tell us more about you and we will tell all about us!

Welcome Raynbowz! Merry is right, please remember to white out any spoilers . . . the spice mines on Kessel are NOT a fun vacation spot.
I started watching with NuWho, have watched lots of classic Who, and like all the versions of the Doctor, in slightly individualized ways. Enjoy the forum!

Howdy, So, which Doctor(s) will cause your inner fanperson to start going boing? I grew up on 4,5,and 6, with 4 as my favorite of Classic Who. Really love 9 of the new series, but 10 is Ok. I live in the US, and have seen a little of 11, though I'm reserving judgement. Really liked Simm for the Master, and hope they find a way to get him out of the Time-Lock! Raynbowz

Hola!you'll like it here. They're really a nice bunch of people. No one's bitten me. Even once. *disappointed* The Master always comes back... ;D A universe without the Master doesn't bear thinking of?
