This is the post to talk about the brand new episode. I know I am a day early, however, I want this up now so I can give you all mod talk. 1. WHITE OUT YOUR COMMENTS! Even if you THINK it is not a spoiler, WHITE IT OUT!!UNTIL IT airs in the USA. Then you can write away in black. 2. Stay away from the cbox! If you want to live chat with other members, go to the "DbyA Live" room and chat there. 3. If you are looking for links, PM each other and NO POSTING LINKS! I do NOT want BBC suing Me, Clocket, Kit or pro boards. This sound harsh and it pretty much a repeat from every year. I just want to state this now for any new members who may come along and join. Now: Watch, Chat, and Enjoy!

actually, Newton, it sounds harsh because it was worded harshly, but we know your bark is worse than your bite Just wanted to say, I'll be looking for links and will say in the cb when I have found something, feel free to pm me if you want to share anything we find (and just as free to pm me if you find it first).

actually, Newton, it sounds harsh because it was worded harshly, but we know your bark is worse than your bite I can't word my words as nicely as Clocket can. She is soft and gentle, I am straight forward and ruff. I was thinking of making another thread for people to post "hey i found a link, pm me" but i am not sure if that will bring in the BBC people or keep them away.

Well,
*when I first heard about intergalactic policemen being involved, I almost thought the Judoon would be involved.
Repetitive phrases again! More than a tad annoying, just like the other times.
Once again, the world was doomed. And now, there are apparently cracks in the universe? Whatever next?*

** [white] I really enjoyed "The Eleventh Hour". The story itself wasn't amazing but the introduction of the new Doctor and Companion were done fantastically.
Though I don't know if I'm worried or intrigued by what seems to be an unhealthy relationship that Amy Pond is going to have relating to The Doctor. Maybe I'm a bit of both.
I would have liked a little more time between Eleven losing his sonic screwdriver and getting a replacement, but oh well. Watching Five has given me a liking to not relying on the Sonic for anything.
I had tons of fun watching it and thought Matt Smith did quite well. I can't wait for more![/white]**

** I liked Matt's performance a lot, and Karen's too. I agree that the story wasn't spectacular, but it did succeed in introducing all the new characters that we need to know. I'm not sold on the change to the theme yet, and I think the new TARDIS is going to take a little while to grow on me. But the scene where he's trying out foods to see what he likes? The confrontation with the alien ship when he advises them to run? Oh yeah, this guy can be my Doctor.**

I loved some of the details *like the way he used the sonic on the crack and then looked at it to check the reading, so often Ten seemed to just wave it around like a magic wand and would just 'know' what it said by a glance at the little blue light, it was nice to have it be a scientific measurement device again - I'm rather tired of Rusty's "magical legendary" approach myself and this was refreshing. Also appreciated the nods to tradition, such as stealing clothing from random people at a hospital! X-D
The rundown of the other Doctors was wonderful - there were five of us all hunkered around my computer watching it via youtube and we all literally just started screaming and bouncing up and down (well, four of us anyway - my mom who is visiting for Easter enjoyed the show but isn't a whovian...yet...) We had to stop it and go back, we were so happy we missed some of what followed. :-D
I loved the performances as well - and as to Eleven hitting the ground running, I think it was a marvelous introduction. I saw someone somewhere on LJ express it nicely - she said she felt the first four Doctors were the Doctor but everyone after them had seemed somehow to just be actors playing the Doctor - (I don't entirely agree, but you catch the meaning) - in Eleven she said "It's as if the Doctor, himself, is back!" Very encouraging.

** "Get a girlfriend Jeff" was a great line. Personally I'm not sure why someone who looks as good as Jeff doesn't have a girlfriend. **

** [white] Well, I don't think we can be certain that Jeff doesn't necessarily have a girlfriend.
and OH WAIT! they made the internet pron guy's name Jeff? Oooh, so Coupling. Moffat, I'm on to you. Which also probably means that he does not have a girlfriend. hehe [/white] **

** I am reallt excited for this next season! Matt Smith did an amazing job and Moffet wrote a wonderful script. It was very classic. ^_^ Amy and Rory are great and I can't wait to see more with them. And were those HORSES in the trailer? Really can't wait to see more.

I am only half way through but I already have stuff to say.
***There are a lot of changes and even though I don't take sudden changes very well, I am actually pretty relax so far. There are some things that are bothering me
I really really hate though is the theme. It's rubish.
I notice that Matt spoke like Ten. I hope this doesn't last very long. I want the new Doctor to be him not Ten.
Also, what's with the crashing into a tree? I see they are trying to make it kid friendly. Awful humor, walking into trees, reason why I never liked many cartoons. Bugs Bunny, never saw the humor in it.
Lastly, can someone tell me what Ami does for a living? She said a kisser or something? Is that a really really nice way of saying "Escort"?
I er... wow that put that job title in a kids show?
" If I kiss enough people maybe I will move up to stripper!" Ah. Who am I to judge. Do what you want Ami.***

** [white] Amy is a Kissogram. From what I understand it's where someone pays her to deliver a message and a kiss for the person is involved. I gather it's just supposed to be in fun.
But I could be being naive. I wouldn't think they'd put that occupation in Doctor Who if it meant anything naughtier than that.
and on the note of Matt speaking like Ten. I only noticed a few occasions where that was true. And a few of those moments were when he was referencing/saying something that Ten had previously said... like "Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey". Those moments thanks to Moffat, really. But no doubt there were definitely a few cases where it was Ten-esque.
But overall I felt more of a Two/Four vibe about him. I dunno. *shrug* [/white] **

all I hear is Ten. The moment he went "APPLES!" IT WAS SO TEN. it just continued on from there. I can go back and write lines that is very much Ten. I think they are trying to keep the fan girls.
I am not done with it. I got bored half way through. :/
also, I still think matt is one ugly guy.
Tomorrow, i will write positives of what i liked about what i have seen so far. I have been so negative and i hate being negative!**

*I'm assuming any residual Tennishness is a result of his having not fully regenerated yet, as evidenced by that yellow glowy stuff seen near the beginning.*

Before I go all whitedness I wanted to share something with the group. My friend got into DW (thru me) but he watched Ten first and he liked him, then he watched Nine (who he proclaims to be HIS Doctor) we did this during the time nuWho took off. So the first time we have ever both watched a NEW episode together was Saturday and right after we finished watching Eleven's debut he said "I don't know about him, I just don't, but it's the actor I'm unsure of, not the Doctor and even if I continue to be unsure, or even dislike, this version of the Doctor, I love the show and I love the Doctor and it won't be enough to make me stop watching." I just thought maybe some of us could utilise this attitude.
** yes, he definitely reminds me a bit of four...the jury is still a bit out on him, but really he kept saying he wasn't done anyway so I don't feel badly needing to take my time.
Amy reminds me of a younger less secure Donna and I like her. What really surprises me (not her kiss-o-gram status, as we knew that) is the already obsessed angle they are going with. If they can keep eleven aware of the fact that he is more or less her fairytale prince come to save her he can avoid becoming just that, and in spite of his young appearance have a very advanced grown up relationship with his companion. THough it would have been better had he kept calling her "Amelia" I really liked that, but maybe that can keep that same "You were a little girl five minutes ago!" vibe, that would ROCK. All in all, I am white knuckling my keyboard until next Saturday afternoon.**

The more I think about this ep, the more i get angry. Even though i haven't finished it. I said I would write some postives. ****** The food part. The doctor eating all of that food. LOVED IT.
The way the Doctor ate the fish sticks and sauce, that is so how i would eat my food.
Rory or what ever his name is. He seems more intune with things than Mickey when he first started. I also like his job. he's cute. Half Adrien Brody half van der Sar. I like, I like!
...I like the opening even though I do not like the opening theme.
Oh, and, i like the story line so far. Even if it is more Sarah Jane than Doctor Who.**** Yup. That is it really. I am a very negative person.

First off, thanks for being the awesome mod while I was absent Newton. ;D ;D ;D Right, so I had a so-so weekend, some good bits, and a few major shocks that i won't get into. Also, I kept having vivid dreams the whole time of searching youtube for this episode, which is probably a bit special, but it was a special weekend. O.o
Anyway, my experience may have been slightly influenced by all of this.
BUT I LIKED IT SO MUCH.
Eleven is just... Eeeee!!! And he did the whole naked and stealing clothing from the hospital thing that's just LOL and "Delete your internet history!" (but okay, one thing, it was all a bit rushed, and who was that Jeff guy actually? Amy's cousin or something?) but him trying to be taller. I lol'd.
Little!Amy is deeply stupid letting a stranger into her house, but we'll work with that. I sort of threw up in my mouth a bit at the fish and custard. Bleeeech.
But she was just a little girl five minutes ago!
Which is... I don't even... and she made Rory dress up like the Doctor when they were children...? I need the brain bleach because I could see the stories that are bound to pop up on the teaspoon before the episode finished. That girl has issues. Like. ISSUES. Which need to be resolved.
And I don't think they'll resolve prettily. I see her rampantly hating the Doctor by the time this is over.
But ELEVEN! Matty boy has won me over with his adorableness. Also MONTAGE!! Moffat made a grab straight for my geeky little heart. MONTAGE!!! and it wasn't just the Doctors. Did anyone else catch the Classic! Sea Devil?!? Foorrrreeeshhhaddoowwinngggggggg...
Lots of that. Pandora's box or something? Sounds a bit contrived, but I'll bite. And why do I get the impression that it's ultimately going to be the Doctor's fault?
And the new TARDIS interior, while I'm not liking it as much as the old one, I think it'll grow on me. It still has the hat stand after all. And a swimming pool.
I'll think of more later, but right now:
It's almost purely awesome.
...except for the theme song. That was a bit rubbish wasn't it?********

I am going to have to re watch it. I MEAN WATCH IT. I kept playing cards while it played.
**Did anyone notice the creepy doll just before the wedding dress of the Doctor? I know she made other dolls but the last doll was creppy.
I think Rory is going to become a baddie. she left the him for the doctor so he is going to turn to the dark side!!! I hope that happens. Give ami a good slap on the face.
I really really liked ami as a kid but didn't like her so much as an adult. I don't hate her, but i liked adult ami better, more mature in a way. Couldn't the Doctor just take the kid? Yeah, that wouldn't go well with viewers.
Ami obbession, it will be different from Roses but it will be interesting.
Clocket, you said that ami will end of hating the Doctor, i think it will be the opposite.
I love the new tardis. I still want to see the pool.
I am very angry with Moffats choice of job title for ami. At least rusty gave Rose and Donna dignifying jobs, not the best, but still. I guess Martha got the better end of the stick when it came to work. *****
