Welcome Pheonix. Watch who you're calling an earthling, though! I just visit Earth occasionally for the pizza.

Indeed it is! Hello, Phoenix, and welcome to the boards; we're a fairly broad and eclectic mix of Who-fans here, I think, and I hopefully a welcoming sort of bunch. No, really; great bunch of people, and I hope you'll enjoy yourself here.
One question, though:
You're not the mysterious "+1", are you?
Nope? Good! Forget I said anything! (No, really, forget I said anything, I'm just being silly) ;D

Hi, yes, welcome!
I'm a newbie here myself, but everyone seems nice and friendly, despite the presence of several villains plotting for universal domination, but then you get that everywhere...

Greetings and welcome!
It is quite a lovely little site innit? *preens*
I hope you enjoy your time here. We're a bit mad, but then, anyone even remotely interesting is. Echoing JJ... you aren't our good friend +1 are you? Not even a little bit?
Damn, there goes that theory out the window.
But even so we're glad to have you!!

Awww - You guys [and girls maybe?] are so nice Unfortunatly, no, im not the mysterious +1. Although I may be one of those plotting world domination....ahem *cough* *cough* Im actually quite a new Doctor Who fan. Actually, I got into Torchwood first, then got more into DW, so I have yet to see all those newer seasons. I never got into the old ones, though. But definatly getting there at a few rapid, and slightly obsessive pace >.< My fave Doctor is definatly the Tenth David Tennant does an awesome job, and i'm very sad that he'll be leaving soon....save for the emo Matt Smith....(not looking forward to it, but hey, we might actually grow to like him). I do have my fingers cross for Gillian Anderson who might play the Rani. I would literally die if she did

it kinda would be a "Nerd explosion" as my friend Luke says if Gillian did play the Rani. I hope Abby and I aren;t included in universal domination, I'm just giving her NASA as she promises we'll get to Mars, which, well do we want to fight the flood? lol
Ten is fine Doctor, Pheonix, among the best since Baker and I'd say you are in good whovian company making him your fave. Have you seen any classic? Either way you should join us on SAturday nights for DW live, so long as I am no more than a viewer it tends to go off without a hitch *sigh* As for MAtt, I say give the kid a chance, Tom Baker and Peter Davidson were both once the youngest actor to take on the mantle, and I say go for it kid, bring back the happy!

Ten's been pretty good, managing to survive and pull it off well in spite of occasional shoddy concepts on the part of the writers. Good choice. I encourage you to delve into the other nine Docs as well, there's a treasure trove to be had out there.
I'm inclined to Three, Two, One and Seven myself but all of them have their moments. :-)

Awww - You guys [and girls maybe?] are so nice Mostly girls I think. Despite the stereotypes online fandom seems to be mostly populated with women (especially the fan fiction part of it). But there are guys here too. And young people. And old people. And British people. And not people. Whee! Variety is fun! ;D my favourite Doctors are 3, 7, and 9, with Nine being MY Doctor. I waver on Ten - there are certain things written into his character that turn me off - but now as the hour approaches I find myself more and more able to love him. Oh Ten. It's just impossible to refuse your puppy dog eyes. I'm looking forward to Matty boy though. If only to find out what the heck a drunken giraffe looks like!

I have an uncomfortable feeling that I was just described as an old person! Never mind me, I am just touchy because the birthday approaches.
Welcome Phoenix! I started with Nu DW too, and then started exploring classic DW. Ten is my Doc, but I really like them all.
I echo Merry, I hope you will be able to join us for DW Live on Saturdays. Lately we have been working our way through one of the 4th Doctor's seasons.

Nah, at this point, I'm starting to regard myself as old. (This came with the realization that I've been watching Who for 5 years. FIVE YEARS! When the heck did that happen?!?!)

As long as I see more of hunk-a-thon, Jack Harkness, then i'll be happy I don't mind the Ninth, but he seemed a bit too much of an oddball. Buuuut, that's just me.

well, Jack is most likely about, the odds are he met many more Doctors than just ten, however you won't see Jack as John Barrowman wasn't really about back then, only the canon is timeless sadly, not the actors

I like Oddballs; probably because I am one myself.
Alas, there is no Jack in Classic Who, but that does not mean there are no feasts for the eyes:
Jamie for instance; our favourite kilt-wearing, dirk-totting, Scott of the sixties. The Brigadier with his amazingly mobile mustache and tight-fitting uniform. Fivey with his adorable flustered charm. Turlough with his... er... Turloughness? IDK, he shows up in a speedo at one point. It is... too much Turlough. There's also unexpected naked Benton, and Three, and... apparently Doctor Who has just always been filthy. And Eight. He's naked too. For like fifteen minutes. Oh Eight. *pats*
Er.... yes. So that was me getting distracted. Anyways. Ahem. Classic Who. Very nice.

are we really judging by nudity? I see a whole new world of Who in the Raw (or perhaps NUdeWho) although entertaining this path leads only to your ultimate demise, I now cannot stop picturing varying who incidental characters naked, well this should occupy me til Christmas, that or until I try to picture a naked dalek and go mad.
