;D Answers on a postcard... All right, both were Five stories ne involved the words "Doctor" and "watches" and "Adric" "swimming", which I supppose isn't *that* bad. Except it's an instantly horribly clear image. WHAT? WHY? ? The other, no. I can only imagine, was posted pre-moderation, cos it was Doctor/Master slash and sounded understandably sick and made me squeak and run back here for the brain bleach. At least Teaspoon *is* now moderated!! Mind you, I am pretty squeamish. I'm still kind of "Doctor Who characters! Doing things the never ever *mention* on DW!" *faints* etc. I ventured onto ff net the other day, investigating the DW crossovers there. 'Tis a far scarier place. Although, at least the crossovers were not so shippy. Just heartbreakingly bad, but I did retrieve a couple gems.

One subgenre I've noticed which I've never felt the need to read is anything that includes references to "X and Y (insert names of pretty non-obvious pairing)'s baby", in such a manner as to suggest that it isn't even worth explaining just how the flaming heck X and Y came to have a baby. Although that's more bemusing than anything, and if it's anybody's thing, then more power to them. I mean, I purvey cakefic and Doctor/Romana unnecessariness, so who am I to comment? ;D But Five would never...Adric...no....

Fivey was playing the part of life guard right? Because he took Tegan, and Nyssa, and Adric to the beach? Right? And Adric insisted on wearing his PJs instead of swiming trunks, and Fivey refused to get changed at all, and the only thing remotely shocking about the whole scene was the fact that Nyssa had a crushed-velvet swimsuit... oh, and the bit where Tegan was attacked by a giant squid.
Right?!?!? Right?!?!?
ahem.
I think, I hope, most of those x & y have a baby stories are part of on-going series, but... yeah...
Though I did read a rather good one once. Surprisingly. It's amazing what the right author can do with some dubious subject matter.
Like the whole Fivey watching Adric swimming thing. I mean, another author might have taken that the wrong way and done something brain bleach worthy.
lalalalalalalalala *ignorance is bliss*

Clocket, you see, you didn't want to know!
And, actually, that scenario is kind of disturbing in itself. But amusing. Heh.
And, JJ, do we need to pause here to explain that babies are brought by storks? I mean, come on.
(Besides, isn't it always the Doctor and Rose's child? - and a quick glance at Teaspoon will clear up that little mystery in an instant.)

Hey, in my travels through Teaspoon, I just found it here and thought it would appeal to, well, JJ at least: www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=20767In which Five, Tegan and Turlough accidentally crash a 1979 TW 1 party. (Along with some of the staff from the Boots down the road, who didn't think it would matter much). TW are therefore corrupt and inept and not much changed from the 1900s, clearly. I very much liked the ending.

... And WHY...?
...would someone write a story with *that* description (no, I'm not telling; you go through all the Five fics)?
... would someone not mark their story as being disturbing Doctor/Master slash instead of 'All ages, crossover, humour'?
...are all promising sounding regency set fics with Classic Doctors adult rated? *sulks*

I hate running into surprise muck. I'm a quick reader and I have a vivid imagination so it's horrible, then I'm frantically backpedaling wishing I could forget whatever the gutter-bred concept was that spouted out of some other writer's brain... Ick.
I've seen some references to X & Y's baby in summaries but never pursued them - seems Tegan and Turlough have come up more than once...why? Because they both start with T? I mean, really??
So, K-9 and Kamelion's baby was just taking its first toddling attempts at extending its little antenna....
Actually, Evelyn points out to me from across the room that any offspring (if you call it that) concocted between K-9 and Kamelion would probably look like WALL-E.

I know that there was one rating that defaulted to All Ages and they were trying to clear that up, but apparently they missed a spot... (at least, that's what I'm saying, because otherwise ) Actually, Evelyn points out to me from across the room that any offspring (if you call it that) concocted between K-9 and Kamelion would probably look like WALL-E. Two words (well, one repeated): GADGET! GADGET!

And, JJ, do we need to pause here to explain that babies are brought by storks? Surely you mean LOOMS!!??!! ;D That Five fic made me laugh; it was very well done, and Tegan was ace in it. I don't know whether to be appalled or kind of sickly amused that someone would label their disturbing Doctor/Master slash as a bit of gentle fluff. Some people... I can only hope Clocket's right about the Teaspoon ratings thing. I know you mean to be reassuring, Clocket, but your talk of Fivey taking his companions to the beach only raises disturbing images of...Turlough...speedos... *chugs Brainbleach for a few minutes until passes out*

I can only hope Clocket's right about the Teaspoon ratings thing. Heh, no I mean storks. Looms are for Gallifreyans only. We don't have them here on earth. So, if it was the Doctor and Romana's baby, then perhaps... WHAT AM I WRITING? *coughs* Yes, I liked the monthly statistics (and Tegan was Ace? *gets confused* ;D)! To be fair, it now occurs to me that I didn't see it categorised as 'slash' so it came without warning, but I may also have been suffering from a transatlantic confusion regarding the word 'pants'. I sincerely hope so. However, I was too disturbed to rationalise that till now. Of all the UK-US translations, that one has a lot to answer for...

Looms are for Gallifreyans only. We don't have them here on earth. Wellllllll, The Doctor's Daughter has humans being Loomed. (It amuses me that the current production team have gone about as far as they can to insist that Gallifreyans breed after the manner of the Children of Illuvatar, and then they show the only canon Gallifreyan birth we've ever seen on the show... from a loom.) Well, you've done Doctor/Rose, so babyfic's surely only a matter of time. Proper babyfic, I mean, not the crĂȘche.

You do know I only venture into the creche (even though it hardly comes into the realm of cute baby!fic) because of Storytime! Six/Rose was obviously going to be entertaining. I really would not know where to begin with baby!fic. *thinks* Actually I HAVE written Four/Romana baby!fic now that I recollect Storytime!. They were not good parents. (Although, to be honest, I don't think they'd usually be responsible for Donna, either). I have a plot bunny to throw at you. And I will, too, now, for that.
