I assume everyone has seen this: www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5hvF0O7_NeyB-hc-riav6mghhfSTgor if they haven't, they've seen it now. I'm not bothering to spoiler white out because it's the LOGO for pete's sake, but if anyone want to not to be spoiled on that, don't click the link and read no further. ... They really are going Old Skool aren't they? (it looks like the movie logo ) Also, I love love love the fact that they made it into a TARDIS. It even has a little light. Awww

**That looks like two logos. You do not need to repeat DW. **

Is that like the logo altogether, or two separate ones to be used in different settings? I like them both very much seperately, but maybe together they're a bit much... Yeah, very oldschool sort of thing - and they're going to have Eleven's mug plastered across the opening titles too just for that extra classic touch. I wonder what kind of facial expression he'll go for - the slightly worrying Six smile, the definitely rather ominous Seven wink - well, whatever it is, it won't be anywhere near as awesome as...whatever you call that expression Two does in his opening titles. Of course, to do that expression you need a face made of rubber like old Troughton was blessed with... And presumably there'll be a new arrangement of the theme tune, too - can't wait to hear it. They'll probably stick with the orchestral thing though, won't they (for that really oldschool feel, they need something weird and electronic, but you can't have everything...)? I would have quite liked a diamond-shaped logo, though, just for that 70s sort of vibe...

New arrangement of the theme. Hmm. Most probably. Will it be by Murray Gold, though, I wonder? I would like some sort of return to the Sixties style theme (The original, you might say!) But we will see. Or hear, rather.

My favourite logo is still the diamond-shaped one from the 70s, as well as the Delia Derbyshire version of the theme; it had that otherwordly quality to it, without the pomposity of the current one (catchy though it is).

It does look 60s-ish... functional and uninspired. My favorite is the Pertwee-McGann, then the Davison. The diamond logo looked too much like a sports team symbol for me, though well-designed. It didn't seem SF-like.

I suppose the least said about the Seven-era enormous-asteroid-sized-silver-letters-flying-through-spaaaaaaccce the better, although that was the one you saw for many years on all of the NA novels etc...

I didn't like it at all, at first, to be honest. Now, I rather like, I think. Change and I don't get along is the thing so I have to give it a bit of time settle, silly capricorn change is for air signs.

It was the only DW logo there was for, oh, years. The words 'Diamond logo' were a mystery to me, until DWM finally chose to enlighten me by re-adopting it. I came in on Seven theme, logo, Silver Nemesis. I had no idea all of these things were supposed to be bad. They still bring back that brand-new-scary-DW feeling like nothing else on earth. Oh, well...

I could have sworn that I'd seen something similar to the logo used before, like for Scream of the Shalka or something similar. Of course, I can find no evidence for it now, and no one else has mentioned anything so I can only assume that I made it up.
You know, it took me embarrassingly long to figure out that the TARDIS was made up of the letters "DW." I didn't really get it at first, but now I like it. And Moffat makes a good point: we have an insignia! That's cool!

The Seven logo itself isn't inspired, but the whole Seven era intro sequence, well, that has an interesting sense of "alarm" to it.

Is this the logo, IM? I can't remember if they used it in the TVM, but I think that was the BBC's "official" DW logo from about 1996 till 2005 - ironically, considering there was no televised Doctor Who being produced at that time - they used it on all of the EDAs/PDAs and things like Shalka. And yes, it does look a bit like the new one, doesn't it...? The Seven logo itself isn't inspired, but the whole Seven era intro sequence, well, that has an interesting sense of "alarm" to it. I get a bit alarmed by Seven's wink. I mean, it's not alarming in and of itself, but knowing what we know now about Seven, if he winked at me like that, I'd probably get very, very scared. In fact, I'd probably count myself lucky if my home planet was still intact by the end of the story. ;D

I still need to hear those NAs.... Yes, that Pertwee logo was used in the 1996 TVM, so it became official just based on that for years, up until 2005, which was fine with me after years and years of the Sylvester logo on DWM and everything else.

I want to say that the one I'm thinking of is from some webcast or something. Meh.
