Thank you soooooooooo much for the list of fiction. It is very kind of you spending time in producing such a list.
I'll spend some time tonight having a little look-see at the stories.
If there is anything that you would like me to help you with at anytime then please let me know.
Many thanks.
Cheers, Steve.

This is wonderful. Thanks for the link. Just read the first chapter and can't wait to read the rest.

Exellent. I love the idea of there being a dumb waiter in the Tardis.

Exellent. I love the idea of there being a dumb waiter in the Tardis. And that's just Peri. *da, dum, dun crash* No, actually I think Peri was quite a strong companion.

You would think she would learn to moan less as the time went on.

I'm working on a Sixth Doctor story currently... well actually for sometime. Right now it's a short piece that could lead into more, but I'm tossed between leaving it short or making more chapters.
I'm wondering if anyone might be interested sometime in betaing it for me and giving me their opinion. Please contact me.
I'm also wondering about whether I should write it in first person or second. I've been told by two friends both arguements.

Second person: you do this, you do that, really immerses the reader into the story, but it's also VERY annoying if done improperly. It's only really used for the whole book if you're doing a choose your own adventure story. The only effective use of it outside that genre I've ever seen was in a book called "Cut" but it wasn't for the whole story, only alternating chapters, and technically it was first person with the POV character saying what "you" (actually another character) was doing. Unless you're planning to do something like that I'd stick to first person. However, did you mean THIRD person? (there are so many persons it's hard to keep track sometimes) that's: he did, she did. It doesn't get the reader as close to the character as first person, but it allows you to tell more information. It let's you, as the author, take a cinematic approach to events, and I find that very effective for DW stories. As personal opinion I don't Iike first person stories from the Doctor's POV. I've seen one or two done right, but I like a bit of mystery distance between myself and the alien. Of course, you could still do first person without having the Doctor as the POV character; you could do the story Holmes and Watson style with the companion relating events, or you could go from an outsider's POV. Or you could switch POVs from chapter to chapter. Like in RWTP. Really though, it depends on what sort of story you want to tell, and what will serve your plot best.

Doh! That's why I don't like to write emails early in the morning or late at night I'm bound to make a mistake. Yes I meant third, not second. Silly me! I think I prefer third since I'm use to it, but the reason someone suggested first was because of the fact that Six, at least in his opinion, is quite egoistical and vain at times, and it would be quite reflective of his personality. But I'm thinking third is much better. I'll probably go with that. However, I'm still in need of beta advice, if anyone is up for reading a Six story. *looks hopefully about* Second person: you do this, you do that, really immerses the reader into the story, but it's also VERY annoying if done improperly. I'll gladly take a look at it. I like your fic.
Bear in mind that I've never done anything (reading or beta'ing) for Six.

I'm going to start calling you my fallback girl from now on, clocketpatch. ;D As always you are my primary betaer and I'm sure at some point I'll get desperate enough to go to you, but for once I think I should let you be (at least until I realise I can't live without your input) . You do so much and I'd prefer not to monopolize your time... particularly now that your a godmother! I'd like to see if I can get some new blood, a new perspective first. Anyone else? I'll gladly take a look at it. I like your fic. Bear in mind that I've never done anything (reading or beta'ing) for Six.
