I'm going to regret not sleeping in the morning. Anyways, please vote on the last poll, because if Doctor Who loses to Clone Wars I'll die a little inside. Also, since when is Supernatural SciFi? Like, at all. I mean, Doctor Who bends the rules a little (a lot) but at least it pretends to come up with skiency explanations, sometimes, mostly... www.tvguidemagazine.com/the-tubey-awards/

Supernatural??? SUPER-?*%@#-ING-NATURAL??!! I've never even watched it, just bemusedly observed some of the...interesting preoccupations of its fandom. I do not want to live in a universe where it is considered superior to Who in any incarnation.
I also voted on which show could do most with a vampire character. Unfortunately, none of the ones that really NEED a vampire character, like, say Coronation Street or Eastenders, were even on the list, being transatlantically challenged, so I voted for CSI. Imagine the hilarity as said vampire's colleagues were trying to recover the trace evidence and s/he was trying to lick it up... Actually, that's not hilarious, that's disgusting... ;D

I voted for CSI too JJ. It seemed... appropriate. Supernatural isn't actually a terrible show. It's watchable at least, and occasionally rather engaging, and it has nice snazy production values (even if they do make it too dark to really see what's going on half the time).
It is, however, NOT science fiction, and it also has one of the most frightening fandoms I've ever unwittingly stumbled into and then run screaming back out of.
The scariest part is that, if his words at Comicon are to be believed, RTD ships it...

I suppose it is unfair to judge a show based purely on a couple of deeply disturbing fanfics and scary message board posts; unfortunately, I know which ship of which you speak; it is even more terrifying than Doctor/Rose. Now let us speak of Supernatural no more...

That is one strange poll. I haven't a clue most of that stuff, so I'm completely off pop culture. As for scifi poll, I agree Supernatural shouldn't be on it, but I disagree with you choices thus far. I think Eureka deserves to win. Now's a brillant scifi show! ;D

Unfortunately, none of the ones that really NEED a vampire character, like, say Coronation Street or Eastenders, were even on the list, being transatlantically challenged, so I voted for CSI. I clearly did not pay enough attention to this post, or the poll. Add a vampire? And you're right, Coronation St would do it beautiful. (EEs would just have 'oh I have-this-awkward-diet, can't go out in the daylight, want to eat my girlfriend angst). I bet Spike would be up for it. Do the Rovers do those onion-y things he likes? *wanders off v. amused at the idea of CS suddenly having Spike as well as Lister hiding out there* Hmm, not that I even watch that. I don't think I actually watch things I'd want to add a vampire to. But CSI or something like that - the sense of smell and knowing whose blood it was... but then it'd just be an apocalypse-less Angel.
