Nyah wants to be a dalek for Halloween, which though made of win, is difficult in the US, I've no idea even what materials to use aside from boxes, can anyone suggest anything? Also if anyone knows anywhere to get DW toys aside from ebay that would be awesome as Nyah and Dynnie both want DW toys for Christmas. Nyah wants Donna and the Doctor and a hospital and Dynnie wants Martha and Mickey.

Amazon.com usually has a lot of DW toys listed. They always come up when I am searching for DW DVD's.
As for the Halloween costume . . . your best bet might be cardboard for the body, with styrofoam balls cut in half for the Dalek bumps. I'm not sure how you could do the head, but you could use the tubes from rolls of wrapping paper to make the eye stalk and arms.

Make and stick a small light weight tube/pipe. On the end of the tube/pipe use a paper cup with the button cut out. Try to get a long tube/pipe that you can cut so the tube to make ears too. You can stick blue Cotton in the cup to make it look like it has a glass thing in the middle. My family and I are a pretty crafty. As for toys, you can also try Geek shops. If they don't have what you want, ask if they are willing to order it for you. Though it may cost extra.

You might be able to use halved tennis balls for the Dalek bumps... no idea if that would be cheaper/more expensive than Styrofoam. Good luck - it sounds awesome.
Oh! just thought. The Doctorin' the Tardis video by KFL (I'd give you a yt link but I'm on dial-up still, poohy) has some homemade box Daleks running around. They're not exactly well done but they might give you some ideas.
(I want a Donna action figure too Newton, because she's totally my hero. Supertemp FTW!)

Attached is what I think you're shooting for..... OMG . . . what are they, Dalek cocktail waitresses? The skirts are actually pretty cool, but please promise me that you wouldn't let your sweet little girl go outside without more clothes on! Especially Halloween on the shores of Lake Erie . . . she would be as blue as the Moxx of Balhoun.

Oh . . . you should go as Three in a pirate disguise! Ruffled shirt, velvet jacket, pirate hat, eye patch . . . and if you can find boots like Four wore in the Androids of Tara that would finish the outfit off nicely.

lol, thanks Magnus, but I do think those are a bit too old for my six year old. I was thinking more robot less prostitute, personally. And, yes, LL, I too grew on those shores and remember many Halloweens in which our costumes hid beneath our winter coats, it was crushing. I know incorporate warmer bits into the outfit, last year Dynne was a butterfly and she wore a black sweatsuit for the body, ways like these to avoid the coats over the costumes.
